Default Stealership stripped the bolts on my oil pan

now they want to charge me to fix it.

how can I fix this. there is one bolt on the oil pan that will not tighten and it's causing me to leak oil.

Is there a way to do this without having to re-tap the bolt hole on the block?

if it's their mistake they should fix it, and you should insist that they do.

I don't understand this thread at all. Why are you asking how you can fix it when you shouldn't have to? What did you say when they informed you they buggered it and asked you to pay for it? What do you usually do in a situation where someone is obviously trying to rip you off, just cave-in and pay up?

I don't think anyone would be a weenie like that, they probably did it on a previous visit and now they are like "we didn't do it" it was like that when you brought the car in...

^ You could be right, but if that's the case, the OP should have said so.

if you can prove that you didn't do any oil changes yourself (show them recipts), you can probably get them to fix it. Those dealership people always over tighten the crap out of everything.
