I'm also interested in this thread. I know there have been a couple of "end-all" CEL threads before -but it always ended in how many spark plug anti-foulers to use and there where always some people who never got rid of their CEL.

I'm specifically refering to the CEL caused by installing a turbo and/or adding a header.

I did not realize that the tC had a secondary cat. After the S-Pipe It has a long resonator and another looking hump, which one is the secondary cat? Anyone have photos of the prefered location of the re-located 02 sensor?

Well, did some digging and this is what I found: Looks like this tC owner installed a new cat right after the S-Pipe and threaded the 02 sensor on it.

Here is a link:

I will ask the owner for the part number for the cat converter.

Some CAT's are designed with an O2 bung already welded in the bosy. Makes sense to me -one less thing to weld on and/or leak.

If you have the antifoulers and are still throwing a cel here is a good (FREE if you still have the stock exhaust manifold) fix.
1. Knock the catalyst out of the manifold. It will come out in big chunks.
2. Take your two antifoulers apart.
3. Cut a piece of catalyst to fit in the antifouler. Be careful not to make it to thick or you will smash it when you screw the two antifoulers together.
4. Install back into car.
5. Reset check engine light.
6. No more cel.
**This modification is only necessary if you already have the antifoulers installed and are throwing a cel**

I have had to do this in a couple of different vehicles where the antifoulers did not work. I have yet to have any cels after doing this. I can not guarantee that it will work for everyone else but for the cost it is worth a try.

I have never measured the thickness. Once I have the diameter right it is trial and error from there until I get the thickness right. Sorry I can't be more helpful on the actual size.

Just reset the ECU a few times.. After I put on my anti-fouler's I had to reset the ECU about 3 or 4 times before it stayed off.

I have gone about 9,000 miles since then and no CEL.

Default Still Throwing a CEL with the Alphawerks header on my tC

guys I recommend that you go to your local autozone and borrow (for free) the OBDT II scan to read what code you get. mine particularly reads P2238, which means the primary O2 sensor is malfunctioning, therefore no matter is I put 100 nonfoulers it won't do anything to eliminate the cel.

What about code P0031? IS that just the system noticing you deleted a cat?

my CEL came on after i installed my DCS headers about 250 miles and i didnt do the anti fouler trick or any other trick for that matter. so... does using anti foulers make the CEL go away or do i have to reset after i put the anti foulers...... assuming that this bypass does work.
