Inside the stock airbox there its seems there are 2 filters, one attached to the box and then one you can remove. Iam just wondering if it would be bad to remove one.
yeah i know its a stupid question but oh well.

1 less filter = less restrictive airflow, = easier breathing engine, = better performance. The down side can also be said:
1less filter = less filtering = more contamanents = more "detritus" in the engine = less engine life.

Not strange ...... i was messing around taking out the grill and became curious. I hit the gas with the filter open .... and i liked it. Nah i was just wondering though, thanks for the replies.
ok heres teh answer to everything
the filter insidey our airbox (non removeable) is caleld tehr CARBON filter which helps eliminate all teh CO2 that engines your engine. i ran with the airbox open and with out filter for about 3-4 days. a lot of kick in performance but not worth it. that filter alone isnt enough to keep dirt out. and my mileage fell to 20 mpg from 25.
the 2nd filter (removeable) is what really keeps everything out but i though the airbox was to restrictive so i took out the bottome half the airbox and taped the filter to the upper half. ithe car is a louder at WOT and i get 25-30 mpg again and i felt a different in performance compared to stock.
