I did just for sound purposes and let it idle and low revs but nothing noticeable to me. So i put it back.

I posted the pic in my thread if we are talkng about the same thing.

Question for you S/C guys,

I have plans in the near future to retro-fit this blower to my Solara since it has the same engine. Is there anyway you guys can scan-in the installation instructions? Or let me know where the hardware actually attaches to the engine and chassis (<- if applicable)

Thanks

-James

Not to put down the people that paid some good cash for a supercharger, it is very cool, but IMHO, I can't stand turbos and superchargers on engines that rev to only 6200rpms. You run out of gear just when the boost is really building up. I have driven an older turbo charged Si, and there is NOTHING like the sound of that turbo and engine SCREAMING at 8,000rpms. Very cool.

The ZPI stage 0 makes full boost around 2k RPM so that's 4000 rpm of full boost. I think that's fine.. But you're right. 8k rpm boosting sounds UBER. And also, ZPI stage 0 makes more power past redline so by lifting the rev limiter theres a signficant amount of power to be found, Im sure.

what happens to the people that ride 70mph+? ....that will mean that they will have a constant boost for the whole trip. Wouldnt that be bad for both the turbo and engine?

they'll be running some boost. it depends on how far down your throttle is. on my old turbo dsm, i would try to keep my boost in vac or as close to 0 as possible while on the freeway to conserve gas (watching my boost gauge). it meant keeping it around 70 mph or below (which also helped save me tickets). going above that and cruising above that would only make 1-3 psi and maybe 2-5 psi when lightly accelerating. it only hit the full 15 psi under WOT.

I am sure our engine might turn to 7k, but anyone with a turbo knows it takes a lot of engineering to spin a turbo engine past 6500rpm. Small spark problems can cause a whole world of hurt. My MR2 spins to 8500, but I never shift past 7k cuz you are just asking for it, even with a rebuilt and well tuned system.
