Default TC Super charger in the next 2 weeks??????Repost

just got off the phone with a parts guy from toyota and i wont mention his name but a dealership in the East coast area (hint :bought hotchkins spring kit for cheap) and he said his dealership is supposed to get the SC in
Quote:
next or the week after
. he said he spoke with the a VP earlier this this past thursday and he reassured him its a done deal!!!! Pray Pray Pray .. the parts guy was extremely excited to tell me everything because i bought a couple of parts from him in the past month and we are pretty much on a first name basis.

according to him and its supposed to include AEM intake with a blowoff as a part of the package (according to him it will be finalized this coming monday) but he also stated that toyota might have something else that secret about this aem intake. the VP stated that he will "leave it up to your imagination" while he was talking with the parts guy/manager !! i know most of us thought it would be september at the earliest but he's saying toyota wants to get it out fast!! he even has a part number and the final specs! he said he couldnt tell me the actual specs until he has it in stock!i dont know why suspicious though!! Silly an oath of silence perhaps i asked and he brushed me off that subject so I drew my conclusion right there that it would be in the range of 200 to 220...either end of the spectrum is cool with me

one last thing i found out according to this parts guy i know who is extremely reliable especially with parts/price/honesty/news a survey was sent to scion delaerships addressed to manager/sales/parts personel out a couple of weeks ago asking for feedback on the projected price of $3200 parts+install and all our scion dealerships asked for a lower price range between $1800-$2700..so cross your fingers for a cheaper price...

you know im gonna check back next week a give everyone the scoop and who knows it maybe be there and the mysterious SC will be shown in a glorious format for the world to inhale our exhaust..

One of two last thing i forgot to tell was the supercharger has been done for several weeks now and whats holding it up wasnt whether it was reliable its because toyota was trying to make it pass californias emisions (damn you california making us all suffer and wait) and according to him its only been certified to pass emissions for the 06 tc but it can still fit an 05 tc but it hasnt been certifed as of yet because of the cai which is the reason why AEM cai is being bundled up for those of you wondering or dont know.

The other hold up is toyota was looking for a proper finish and engine dressup kit to compliment the SC.. ..He also stated that he had personally driven one of the four FINAL prototypes SC'ed TC's and all he could say was "I hope you got your money saved up and give me a call next week for a quote....sounds like confidence to me but i hate to get my hopes up and its not there Doh!

i know this is alot of info to digest and your wondering why i didnt post this earlier today but you got to understand that i was stuck in a meeting all day and didnt get a chance to type in before the meeting

WARNING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THIS MAY OR MAYNOT BE TRUE.
BELIEVE AT YOUR OWN FREE WILL !!DONT SHOOT THE MESSENGER SHOOT THE VP+ PARTS GUY+TOYOTA FOR ALL THE SPECULATION

I am still holding out final judgement until some actuall real numbers come out.... but a 40 BHP gain for 3 grand is nowhere near cheap to me. I will probably pass on it if that is the case. I can get a ZPI head, good intake and exhaust and a camcon and probably reach near those numbers for under $2000. Not to mention spending the same on a turbo and getting much better results. And before anyone says warratny, your warranty is still good unless the part you put on causes the issue. It will not void your entire warranty. And if you put on the SC and add a smaller pulley, you are in the same boat if something breaks due to it.

But like I said, hopefully they are not crazy enough to charge $3000 for 40 BHP, so I am holding judgement till it comes out.

I'm happy if it's 200whp and even better if it's 210-220whp. What does the tC put to the ground, 140 at best? That's 60-80hp increase, and another thing to consider is that it will make this power in a wider range throughout the rpm spectrum compared to headers/intakes, etc.

I stated that I have been hearing 200 BHP . That is only a 40hp increase. 200 + WHP and yes, I would consider it. An with the turbos used today, you can easily size them to spool up soon.

The centrifugal SC that TRD is building exhibits lag itself. You are thinking of a roots or screw type SC, which produce a more linear response. This means they start producing power very soon, with the boost increasing in a more linear fashion.

um no. Depends on your relationship with your dealership. They can flat out deny you service. Then you are stuck trying to find a dealership that will vouch your gray area theory of law. It might be a law, but it comes down to an investigation and the little man always loses.

The hassle, time, and fight that it would take to convince a dealership this law, you've lost already.

I guarantee you that you would leave a bitter taste in mechanics mouths that will result in questionable service. (I've seen what dealerships can do to people they don't like and black list. It's a nightmare if you don't treat these guys good. They don't care, it isn't their car.)

Wah wah waaaaaah. Hold up here. Your statement is whacko. Exactly why would the s/c pass with '06 tCs and not '05s. they are identical mechanically. With all the same emission parts and restrictions. I call this thread BS.
