Well first of all there is in fact a difference between an 06 and 05 tC. The most obvious would be the head unit and steering wheel column. So they aren't identical - but you said mechanically so I will address that. Both the Camry 4 cyl and the tC use an identical engine right? The 2AZ-FE. Well they're not identical.. same block, same head, same cams and what not but it's the other parts that are different. The header is different, the intake manifold is different (I think), all the cats are under the car and there is a flange after the last cat in the Camry. In the tC the precat is on the header and there's no flange after the last cat. So it's entirely possible that the intake system on the 06 is slightly different from the 05 one.

But to be honest, I really think they are the same - I think it's just the CARB board that's being picky and retarded.

If you would like to get some more info on the ScionSpeed Turbo get the September issue of Modified MAG. I got it in the mail yesterday and there is a story on their Scion TC project starting on page 124. Its bad A**. I didn't want a body kit, But I might need to get the Kaminari aero race body kit.
P.S. The PIAA wheels on their TC are what I've been looking at to add to my TC

There is a flange after the 2nd cat in the tC. Wich is why there isn't a Carb legal Cat back exhaust for the tC yet. The Camry and the tC do share the same engine. with slight differences. But no where did I mention comparing a camry to a tC. I was comparing 2 tCs. Wich are exactly identical Mechanically. They didn't tweak anything mechanical in the 06 tC. Both years of the tC have the exact same emission parts and have to comply with the Exact same emission laws in california. The board can be picky, but not in this instance. They are the exact same car with different color interior trim and a different head unit/steering wheel.

thank you for clearing that up . from what i understand when they originally tested the supercharger it was done on a 05 with a k&n cai which scion think it was the reason for the emission failure if im not mistaken.

there is definitely a difference btw 05 & 06 all though small but mechanically im not 100% what's changed. they should still use the same engine and all.

dont be surprised if its different because carmakers doit all the time like for example my 99acura tl i use to own only had 2 consecutive model year which was a 99/2000 and most of the parts from the later years of 01-03 were not interchangeable

whatever, I'm sick of all of these supercharger posts filled with nothing but speculation. These posts are getting to be a dime a dozen on this board and are really starting to lose credibility. Until this thing comes out, I give you my new favorite smiley,

I understand coming to a forum to gain knowledge and to share the knowledge that you possess.

I understand some threads that really just boil down to random conversation, just a way to read something interesting or funny or just kill time between other stuff

Hell, I even understand a good ol debate once in a while. The people debating as well as those listening at least learn something most of the time

What I dont understand is having such little life (as well as mind) to go around on other forums, sign up, read posts just to bash other peoples cars. Wow, you have put the time and effort to make a 12 sec eclipse... people have already done that to a tC and it is barely a year old. I would be more impressed if you had personality or any kind of respect for others.. but we dont own a dsm... so you are the cool one.... yeah, right. Sad people...

It was never on Scion.com. It is coming soon, we are actully starting to get real info on it. Such as the price and part number.

Goto: http://www.mcgeorgeparts.com/ then tC -> 2005 -> supercharger

They recently added the price and part number. They say the release is in september, but it has been delyed before so we will see.
