Umm there was a post on the main page (news worthy) about a 250hp tC in the works. It was just a rumor, but it was from a major source (edmunds maybe? I can't find the post right now). So he isn't pulling it completely from his ___.

 

maybe the turbo will make the tC the rumored new 250hp car. that would be amazing. Highly doubt it will happen though.

for now on mods do me a favor, lock all threads about the TRD s/c... the same stuff and more rumors get spread around...

dont know but yesterday i got an accessory packet from scion, the SC is in there and still with a release date of 2005.

 

trdsparks.com has it available for purchase

although it gives no specs or install costs.

as I assume there is no warranty coverage if not paid for through the nose for a dealer install.

I just want a concrete price and power output and uprgradability before I start waiting or start building my own turbo setup.

If i'm not mistaken you can self install trd parts and still get a warranty through trd, a year for s/c's I think it is. As for purchase availability I doubt it because someone would have it by now.

 

I was part of a conference call with myself and the VP and president of our car club talking to someone at scion headquarters. (we were surprised when the caller ID at the Pres's house said toyota motor corp) Anyways we were calling to get permission to use the logo's on our club propoganda and as an aside I asked about the S/C and the lady on the other end told me sept 10th because that was some sort of scion dealership meeting / press event? and that the scion exposed taking place sept 17th in IL was going to be a coming out party of sorts.

Who knows if thats accurate, just passing along my expeirence.

screw the supercharger from trd and screw the warranty, ive been waiting since last october for the trd sc and nothin yet so ive done the headers intake and exhaust and now ive got the 40 bhp that the sc is supposed to give

sorry to say, 40hp gains from i/h/e usually will come from high-performance and restricted cars (i.e. turbocharged vehicles, v8's, etc)

 

Yeah, maybe 15 - 20 bhp. First, the parts mentioned will not add the kind of power they list 99% of the time. Second a 10HP Header, 20HP Exaust and 10HP Intake (for example) does not necessarilly add up to 40HP.

 

Not sure if this a repost but I was just looking through www.mcgeorgeparts.com and saw the SC on there for $2950 ($3200 retail). Says it should be avialable in sept. Theres even a pic:

 

those pics have been out on one of the SCION magazine's. so pics are not a big deal. its the actually product at dealers.

i relaly want this supercharger. or jus anxious to see results and performance compared to the TURBO
