I sent an email to scion requesting info. Here is thier reply:

Thank you for contacting Scion.

We do apologize, the TRD supercharger is still being developed for the tC and pricing has not been determined. It will be introduced and priced closer to the end of the year, and we expect output in the neighborhood of 200 horsepower. The estimated price range is $4000.

Please feel free to contact us should you have any further questions or comments. We would be happy to assist you. You may contact us directly at 1-866-70-SCION or by email at https://secure.scion.com/scion/ssl/c...contactForm.do

You may also want to click on the following link for https://secure.scion.com/scion/ssl/c...draiserForm.do

Thank you for your interest in Scion.

I know the price seems way lower than what everyone is saying and thats a good thing if its true, if not dont shoot the messenger im just saying what he told me.
Unless you were talking to a general manager or someone high up (not sales people) it just confirms what we already know... no one knows squat and it's not out.

but 40hp for 4k it insane, i hope they realize that at that price not too many people will get the sc and all that "research" they put into it will be a waste

I can't wait for the S.C. Even its only an extra 40hp. Add all your other bolt ons...and you will have close to 225whp. That will be plenty of power..

If you want more bang for your buck, go buy a Turbo and stop whinning...

200hp is just fine by me. How much more do you really need?

Go get a Saleen if you're that concerned about horsepower. And run pure methylated Alchohol.

I wonder when they'll ACTUALLY release the SC...

Most are not complaining about the 200hp. What is getting people is the 3k pricetag for that 200hp.

I will most likely get it even if its 3k (but hopefully not more), I think that the warranty and other stuff could make up for the price. But if it takes too long I my just settle for a turbo.....

No one is whining just stating a fact that if the SC does only 40 hp for 3k or more we wont get it,

And then maybe we will get a turbo and kick the A$$ out of your car, with your overpriced SC,

How much more than 160 do you really need in that case?

The issue is not the output, it is the input.. from out wallets. 40 BHP is EXTREMELY overpriced at 3000 dollars. Now, if it is 40 WHP for that price it is a little better, not stellar, but not terrible either. That is all that people are complaining about. I wouldnt pay $8000 for 100 BHP either. Its the power to dollar ratio people are concerned about... but we dont know the details yet.. so we may as well wait and see.

If I was going just for HP I wouldnt buy a saleen.

for all you complaining that its 40hp is not worth the money, think of it this way then....

tC $17K + supercharger $3k = $20k for around 200hp

RSX TypeS = $24K for 201hp

just my point of view... if it is 40hp i wouldn't mind at all purchasing it.

I don't think they will release it. I think they are holding off to make a upscale TC (not just an option) with a turbo to compete with the other pocket rockets out there.
