sooo... i dunno if this has been answered or not. Quite frankly I didnt try searching cuz i really didnt know what to type. So here goes..

i currently have a greddy sp2 axelback with a megan midpipe. It sounds great and all, but ive noticed that when it rains that the sound tends to.. hollow out. Does this make sense? it almost sounds like rasp, but more .. how do you say ... like you ahve a cold and ur getting those deeep coughs...

now... here are the hidden factors...

1- i have a nice size dent in my spipe
2- there could be a chance that the bolts on the midpipe are loose..

the sound seems to be coming from the front of the car...

I have no clue why the rain would affect any of this... it sounds fine during nice days.. and crappy during hte rain.. so please help!

maybe its not the exhaust at all. maybe its the change in temp when it rains, your car will sound different on a day that is say 50 degrees vs a 100 degree day.

^^ reallly? the temp hasnt been so different .. the only variable has been rain.. perhaps humidity played a part?

exhaust always sounds raspier when its cool out. once warmed up it generally sounds better, that's metal expanding and closing up gaps.

maybe the intake of more humid air when it rains as compared to a sunny day and cooler and warmer weather affects the tone of the exhaust. try waiting until the car has properly warmed up...if you look in the manual, it says to drive it normally for about 5 minutes to warm it up properly...once its warmed up, it might be ok.
