Default thoughts on injen CAI. with mods.

Hello all. woot my first post. I myself have a K/N Drop in filter, and an Greddy Evo 2 axleback exhaust. Amazing low sound and the car rides smooth.

I was thinking after reading around that ingen CAI has the best overall power upgrade etc.. compared to others. Now If I install this item, will it change anyhting on how the car rides or anything of the matter? Im still kinda new to car stuff so im just asking. Thank to all. Lastly I know there are 2 types of Ingen CAi a short one and a long one. Which is better? Thanks all again.

Uh, the one for the 07 Tc is convertible...you can switch back and forth between short ram and cold air (long) by removing one of its pipes so it's shorter. My Injen is on the way, and they tested these things on this forum and found the most gains with the Injen. Be sure to get the 07 one if you have an 07. Should drive about the same with a little more torque and HP, and some exciting noise from the engine compartment.

Hey.. i recently installed the Injen CAI. You'll love it. When you accelerate the intake has a deep sound. The only problem i have is that there is a slight rattle. Its no big deal. Alot of people here know whats it is an can help u if its a problem. And as for the "long" and "short" one. you want to put on the "long" one cause thats the Cold air intake. it runs down in between ur wheel well and ur front bumper. the "short" one is for a short ram intake which wont give you as much hp.

Welcome bro. Speaking from experience, I too was woo'd by the CAI and wish I wouldn't have gotten it. If you want perfomance, it won't satisfy that need, atleast not me. It does make your car sound a bit meaner at higher RPM's but I'd rather have mean perfomance that just sound. IMO, I say save your money on the CAI and put it towards a turbo kit or the TRD S/C. I know they are much more pricey, but I think in the long run you'd be happier with your performance. Now, if you just want a quick mod, just to mod something, then go with the Injen. I feel of all the CAI's out there, it is the best looking sounding and yields the best butt dyno gains. But take it from me, if you crave power like I do, then save your money and put it towards a forced injections set-up.

The car will "ride" just the same. Perhaps a small amount of low-end torque loss in short-ram mode. I say "mode" because there is really just one Injen CAI, the short-ram is just the first of two pipes installed.

I just installed the second part of my CAI a few weeks ago after having the CAI installed as short-ram for most of a year. After doing this, I wish I had done it as soon as I got it. It is so much better imho. There is less vibration, it sounds 10x better, and I actually thing throttle response is improved as well. Good luck!

Now as for install I got a cousion who installs his own parts but again. .. Should this be something we could do together or take it in for some pros..? Thanka gain. I cant wait for this upgrade. LAstly!!! who do I buy from? I remember I got my exhaust from EDIT: Showstoppersusa.com Great people. Will buy from them again if they carry it.

Actually there are a few types, like MR, etc. They all mean different things, like racing, and MR is a technology that does something to the intake, I forgot. Be sure to get one thats from an authorized injen dealer to be warrenty, etc.

RD is the racing version.
Here are the other types:
