In no order really but if you're going F/I then you'll want to do the first four first ideally.

Quality Rim and Tire combo
Coilovers with dampening adjustment ability
Front and Rear Sway bars
Performance brake pads and slotted rotors

N/A route:
Intake
header
Full exhaust with a resonator on the midpipe

F/I route:
Turbo kit of your choice
boost, oil pressure, AFR wideband gauges
Engine management with larger injectors
Tune
LSD
upgraded clutch

Listen to this young man's advice and to this older man telling you he's right. When I got out of the service in 1985 I blew my savings on a brand new Camaro and rented a condo in Hawaii that was worth $55k at the time. Should've bought a beater and the condo, two years later it was worth $89k. (Yeah, this is the voice of regret )

Put some into the car - $2k on suspension, bolt-ons & tuning will get you a great handling tC with good pep - and invest the rest.
I agree 100%, My friends tell me to dump the money i have into the car and i just dont agree with them. Ive put a lil money into it but i dont plan on spending much more unless i come across a large sum on money(like $100,000, ect).

Invest most of it into the stock market, then like they said if you want some performance, beef up ur suspension and just do intake header exhaust.

Be carefull doing performance mods because you dont wanna kill ur gas mileage, gas is about to be 4 bucks a gallon for regular here in NC.

If i knew I was enlisting, I would've waited for the 11k check and picked up a bmw 128i, but thats just me. If you were to spend 11k on your car, I would definitely boost, coilovers, nice suspension setup in general, some new shoes for your car, other ish (exhaust, pulley, tb spacers, etc.), than the cosmetics.

With me, I always want to buy performance parts, but I was planning to stay N/A for awhile. Than it hit me, I would never be fast going N/A, so I was like maybe I should boost and work on the suspensions, than I thought to myself... Why do I need to be fast? I don't even race or autox haha, so basically all my mods now are cosmetic mods, the only performance mod I have is a cai, other than that everything is all show and no go. My plans as of now is to save after until I get out of college, work, and get a nice little gt3 =].

if your going to put forced inderduction on why not pull some big numbers on the dyno so there for i say build your interals.... your pistons and rods a bearings can only take so much before they turn into lil pieces of metal in your oil

I have no previous experience working with cars, so I'd just like to know what your opinions are on the top 5 upgrades I should get, I'm interested solely in performance.
First, I think you deserve more than $11k for your continuing service to this country.

Second, spending money on your tC is great, but the advice you got on investing was spot on. Spend a little on tires, wheels, and sway bar, and put the rest away. If you get called up, the turbo kit, coilovers, etc. will be useless; you don't want to get caught up upgrading a car you don't drive... I speak from experience.
