So I have been in touch with my dealer and he tells me that it is very possible that Toyota Racing Development is not making the supercharger now, yet Toyota themselves will directly make it. As they are two different entities, Toyota is supposed to takeover the whole thing and release it themselves now.

 

So waht exactly does this mean? Is anyhting other than the name supposed to change? Whatever, either way it's not out.

 

Ive heard some news that TRD is being phased out. Dont quote me on that though

That's quite a statement and an incorrect one at that. TRD has been fully involved in the development and now the distribution of the new tC TRD SuperCharger. Toyota is going to be distributing them from Toyota Warehouses as part of a new TRD-Toyota cooperative effort. That's it folks, nothing mysterious or negative. The SuperCharger will be in the warehouses next week and will be available in the near future.

just sayin what my dealer said. He knows his stuff, no offense meant to anyone who posts, or any dealers out there.

 

Just got back from a dealer talking to a friend that works there. I asked him about it and he thought it was out already until he called the department himself (did it in front of me) He was a bit surprised b/c he told he they're handing out the new brochure with the TRD supercharger listed in it Anyhow, he said it's definitely goin to be out, it's just a bit late.

BTW, I found out something VERY VERY INTERESTING about the S/C! Apparently they WERE out before but they have to take them back due to the problem that the s/c was making way more torque than the hp it's making, so it will wear out transmission so much faster than it became a problem. Now they have finally fixed the problem and will be distributing soon.
