lately I've started to hear a slight hum in gear, someone drove it and said they heard it too. the car isn't driving funny, but now I'm paranoid could it be because I wore my clutch? and i know it doesn't hum if I put it in neutral and I can fairly well pick out sounds among road noise, tires, engine, wind and the like. any ideas?

 

someone else told me it's probably the throwout bearing, and the other person who drove my car said the noise was more prominent when they hit the clutch
