I want to see an actual picture of the TRD intake. That pic someone posted was an old stock photo that they had. I doubt it's the same.

One thing people are forgeting is the financing factor. The reason that alot of people bought the muffler is because it was an option that they could add to the price of the car that maybe added 10$ a month to their payments, as apposed to slapping down 350$ -500$ for another axel back. Its a pretty intake, best looking one imho. And if we are honest all intakes are seperated by 2hp or less, which is an incriment to small to be messured via the "butt dyno," so many will go with it for the bling factor as well as the BPV that prevents hydrolock. Only problem is that I read that with the carb legal intake the gains were so modest that they did not think it would be worth it to produce. So either this is not carb legal, or its good for less than 3hp. Either way I think it will be a big seller among those who are newly financing their tCs, but I don't see tC owners running to the dealer to slap down 450$

i do under stand that aspect of it but i feel for the price a intake that makes more power for less cash (since intakes make sutch little power its best to get the best bang for the buck )

if any one realy thought it out and wanted performance that is the rout they would take but some ppl just want noise and to pay as little at once as posible so this is a good option for them i guess

My point of view. I've always had toyota's and I understand them and I think they are great cars. I am anti-honda and especially anti-civic! I might even get a TRD tattoo someday. 'til then, I really want a TRD performance vehicle and I would pay the extra buck for a complete TRD tC. My tC came with the Exhaust Pipe but it is about $8-$10 a month.

If you read the fine print it states, "In California this part may legally be used on a racing vehicle which will NEVER be operated on public roads" It doesn't even specify if the TRD CAI is legal in Cali. $440 for a CAI that MAYBE isn't even legal in Cali? Forgetaboutit! If one is so encouraged to purchase one of these when they become available, I'm sure trdsparks.com would sell these at a decent price.
^ LoL

Not Carb certified and at this price tag.... INSANE...

If anyone wants to be a TRD b**ch.... go ahead.... but that high of a markup is irresponsible to consumers at best.... and IMHO is just a scam for the uneducated person out there....

I agree, and I wouldn't buy it at that price, unless I was buying my tC today and could finance it. But I bet TRDSparks and Mcgeorge will have it for mid to low 300s. Plus I bet it sounds awesome, afterall the exhaust sounds awesome IMHO. Just heard one for the first time today when I went to get my sunroof recall done.

This is how I feel!! I want everything to be the same manufacture.

As my last post. Is this still being produced?

All I can say is that if it my dealership will guarantee me that it wont void my warranty then im in. It is expensive as hell but its more expensive to end up in a situation like some of the other guys on this site that have blown motors with dealerships that point to the intakes. While I fully believe thats BS I dont want a fight with Toyota cuz i dont have the time or resources to win. Let alone to pay for the repairs that some of these guys are talkin about. Im interested in keeping my warranty intact and getting as much performance outta my slug as I can. Id def go Injen if I could but if I get to keep my warranty with TRD then thats the way im goin. Disadvantage of bein a poor college student i guess

It would be absolutely insane for them to point at an intake as a cause of a problem, especially with them selling an intake that serves the identical purpose as the Injen... Once the TRD intake comes out, I'm positive that no one will have dealer warranty issues with a CAI any more....

This part is sold with no warranty and install of this part may adversely affect the warranty coverage of your vehicle.

So this means that if anything goes wrong scion can blame it on the CAI?
Scion thinks people are going to spend $440 on something they could buy for half that amount.

Maybe I am missing something.

Also this would add hp to the supercharger and work?

It won't work with the supercharger without modification and won't neccesarily add to the power... we don't really know... It's hasn't been dynoed.

I didn't see that comment stated above about warranty.... It's nice to have a good relationship with your local dealer I guess...

Darn Toyota Service Reps.

Its not a good thing anymore. Maybe they are just doing that because it is not legal everywhere.

im really dissapointed on this one. i am what you would call a trd *****, but like using products specifically developed and tested for my car from trd that is warrantied. i was excited to see the cai from them but when i saw the 440, i figured that was going to be like the exhaust that is like 520 on the web site, with install- so getting it from trd sparks would be a shave under 300, but noooo, since that doesnt include install looks like the cheapest you can get it it will be a shave under 400. thats really lame too that they wont standbehind it one bit. ive come to expect that now with everything they develop. i mean gimme a break, they have like one of the only aftermarket sc on the market that i know of that is warrantied like the car, but then they wont warranty a lowsy intake, better yet, possibly void your wareranty? sounds like were nissan buying nismo, theyre ******.

i'd buy it if:
1) it were 100% legal (living in CA sucks)
2) its able to be bought cheaper elsewhere (like other TRD stuff)
3) it has no effect on my warrenty (totally stupid that it would??)
