Umnitza's CarbonWerks Intake...2 Pics and Video!
oh, just curious, how would you go about replacing or cleaning the filter when it gets dirty? i'm thinking of buying this intake, and i had a problem trying to clean my old k&n filter for my eclipse, so after about 2 and a half years, i just bought another 35$ filter.
i want it, and when i get my tC (lol i kno i kno) this is the first thing im gettin!
looks sick, sounds sick, and i dont really care about the gains cuz i dont need the fastest car. but im in!

that intake definitely sounds awesome. i have the weapon r secret weapon right now and i wish it sounded that good. on the weapon r u get the whistle sound, but that thing is just deep as hell. if they had a dyno of it on a tc and it really gave the 8-10hp gains that they're claiming, i'd go with that intake so fast.
To some who are skeptical and think I'm doing this only to advertise...you're wrong. I don't even have the intake yet. It was installed, tested and taken out for the final manufacturing plans and process. The reason why it might have sounded like an advertisement was because I integrated most of the questions and concerns that were brought up on sciontc.com into my first post on here and toyotanation. Honestly, if this product was all mine already I would post the same exact thing. That is, if someone would not have beat me to it. I'm just doing this to give more people product options and awareness. Since our cars are still very new, different companies and their products are going to be springing up from everywhere and not all of us can keep track all the time. That is why we have forums.

i would still like to know though, how one would go about replacing just the filter once it gets dirty....
Don't get too hyped up on this intake......Over on the Mazda3 forums, we have been waiting months for some decent dynos. Umnitza was initially claiming 155hp and 160 ft.lb torque from the curves provided. You can see from the dyno curves that that claim was bunk. The runs have a few blips that resulted in these max numbers. These runs also have exhaust mods in addition to the intake with no reference without the intake. The stock Mazda 3 puts out ~141 hp so the results are nothing to write home about.
The design inside the filter on the 3 is really lossy. They don't show you this. Don't know if it is better for the Scion.
Every week, there is at least one all out brawl with this company with other forum members. Not a class act in my book.

i have it, sounds good, only loud when you pound it, regular driving you cant even tell. fits good, looks good, i say its worth it. I know some people say it sucks cause it uses the stock elbow, but if your looking for performance i would think the stock plastic would dissapate heat better than aluminum piping anyway....

We are dyno'ing the Mazda3 on Wednesday, we complete sold out of this intake - the Scion tC one and we're also sold out of the Mazda3.
We should get more of them into stock tomorrow and ship out the remaining orders we have outstanding.
If anyone wants to step up and have their car dyno'ed (hint hint the original poster) we'll be happy to do so as well.
Im quite pleased it uses the stock intake tubing because on my previous car the intake tube was freakin hot to the touch and on the tC its barely warm after a long drive. To me this is right up there with a CAI and maybe even better. I should have mine tomorrow by the way and if not then I expect some shipping refundage...
