Default under the hood shifter bushings

not so sure where to post this. so, if this needs to be moved, go right ahead.

anyways, my bro has a '97 eclipse gst. he swapped out his shift bushing for a skateboard bearing. and ever since, his shifts feel sooo much better than how it was before. i was looking into that cuz i have some extra bearing laying around my house. ive tried searching on this forum, on other forums, and even google. i found some galants, dodge neons, and other cars that can fit it just right. im just wondering if it would fit for the tC. is anyone running this setup? i would like to know how well it fits and the difference made in shifting.

Never heard of that, but there are some inserts that you can buy that improve shifting stiffness, I think they are made out of urethane, but the bearing idea sounds interesting, try it and let us know how it feels.

my friend with a gen1 eclipse did that too. his bushing broke though and used it as a ghetto fab thing, but it worked better than we though it was going to

Correct me if I'm wrong. There's two of these bushing things under the hood right? One is beneath te intake. Where is the other? Is it right next to it?

^^yeah I'm pretty sure he does sell them. But the thing is, I'm trying to find a cheaper easier way of doing it. I'm just a little curious since I know other ppl have done this mod in their cars(not a tc). And I'm sure there's a lot of tc owners who are curious as well. I appreciate your input tho. And yeah, the cable bushings. I guess I just didn't know the actual name for it haha.

After seeing the derlin bushings sold for like $45 i decided to find a cheaper alternative. I bought brass cable shifter bushings off ebay for like $13 and they work great. Cant get much cheaper than that.
