Default Water Pump replacing

So I noticed some pink residue in the engine bay near the belt and looks like I have a coolant leak. Well I'm putting it through a 1000 mile drive today. I'm going home and installing a new water pump when I get there. I already bought the parts. Atleast it's not really making a noise yet. The coolant level is low, but I'll have to watch it as I drive.

I've searched around and wasn't as lucky as hoped to find some real picture step by step DIY. So I am sure some of you guys have swapped out there water pump. I have been reading to not use a gasket, but just use silicon to seal the water pump to the engine. Also, I found this DIY (a few posts down) http://clubsciontc.com/forums/diy-in...-21331/?page=2
and was wondering what the SST tool is called and if it is necessary.
Also is the dex-cool extended life radiator coolant good to use on our cars? I heard it was better for the aluminum and would help the water pump last longer.

Thanks, just want to make sure I get it done correctly.

sst tool is called just that. it's a standard specific tool (or something like that) that has one purpose and one purpose only. so that SST is used on the water pump and thats it. you can generally get by without it though.
