Default Weird Noise from Engine after replacing the PCV Valve

I replaced my pcv valve and am getting a very noise from my engine. I tried another brand pcv valve and getting the same exact noise. It almost sounds like a wind up toy unwinding.

Hopefully you can hear it in these two videos. The first one I took with the hood closed (to reduce the background noise). The second one with the hood open.

Not sure if It's related or not, but I have been getting low oil presssure readings from my guage. I thought it was my pressure sender going (as I get very high readings at start up as well), but am unsure now. Also, the oil pressure appears to increase with load (i.e. once I take my foot off the gas after speeding up the oil pressure immediately drops 5-10 psi).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is this strange hi pitch noise. I don't think you can hear it in the video too well.

yeah i've heard that before, it's either that spring that causes the valve to pop open and close is bad.. Or you're not getting a good vacuum seal on the pcv valve. Check the spring connections on the hose that connects between the intake and the valve cover. They might be leaking, just start the car, idle it, and feel around there for leaks. you'll feel a "puff puff puff" if it's leaking.'

also..

The toyota pcv valves come with this green thread sealant already on the valve, just screw it in, and it's sealed. Did you use the toyota part? Or use thread sealant on the new pcv valve (if not toyota)?? if you didn't that's the leak and the cause of the noise.

check back and let us know.

I felt around with the car idling and didn't feel any leaks.

It's a fram part (tried another brand from autozone that did the same exact thing). It did have thread sealer on it though.

I did some more research and read that some people have had aftermarket pcv valves that 'buzz'. I'm going to buy a Toyota one (think they use Bosch) andsee if it goes away.

It went away after I installed the Toyota pcv valve.

thanks for the update! that's great news! yeah I remember fram on some other cars making this noise. I had forgotten about it, til you reminded me. But you know what's funny (sarcasm) is that Toyota doesn't even have a schedule for when the PCV is to be replaced, I usually do it every other year. But hey, glad it's fixed now!!

Yeah me too. It was actually a couple dollars cheaper at Scion, but I think th guy gave me a discount as I was telling him this was the third one I bought.

I read recently somone inidcate that it was supposed to be changed every 30k miles. I don't remember seeing that in the maintenance to-do schedule though.
