Weird noise from engine please helppppp
Does the noise go away after the car warms up? I notice a similar noise when I start my car when its cold, after it warms up the valve tap seems to go away. I'm still kind of leary about it I figure I'll call the dealer tomorrow to see what kind of bull____ story they want to feed me.
lmao that doesnt make me feel any better lmaooo but at least ur honest i know its f-ed up lol, i wanna get rid of this f-in car...i wanna get the 08 g35x =D a few more monthsss and its mine lol but till then im f'ed
my 06 tc does this also, but it is more noticable when i am low on my oil. my car burns thru a dipstick in about 1000 miles lately.. but was told 1. nothing wrong, 2. it was my dc header 3. that a scion is ok at burning 1qt for every 600 mles-normal oil loss.

uhh who ever told you that go up to them with a wrench and just hit them in the head.
1. something is wrong get a compression test done, and are you getting a lot of white smoke?
2. it isnt your header no way it could do that.
3. scion says oil only needs to be changed every 5k miles so the qt per 600 miles is bs cause that is 3 k miles and your out of oil.
Every toyota engine is going to have some kind of valve tap, just a little, but one thing you might want to check is the camshaft cover under your oil cap, it can be bent down just enough to where the cam is hitting the cover. happens sometimes when you put oil in. A new motor will burn a little oil within the first 1,00 miles but a qt every 600 miles is too much.
