Default Why is my car jerking in 2nd and 3rd?

The day I put my DC Headers on, I drive my car and the CEL comes on. And when I was driving my car is seems to jerk around in 2nd or 3rd gear a bit when cruising, but not at full throttle. It seems really wierd to me and I am going to do the anti-fowler fix today. I really need help... lol

Slower off the clutch? Though you probably already know that. Hope you can get it straightened out. I think the CEL puts the car into Limp mode, meaning that it doesn't run normally. There's a pretty good chance that that's the problem.

it can't be the clutch.... everything was perfect with it untill I put the header on. and its only while cruising... everything else and my clutch feels perfect.

Here's a way to test your clutch: go about 30mph, put the car in 5th and floor it. If the car bogs down and goes slow then your clutch is fine with the load. If it revs up all of a sudden, your clutch is bad.

Is it just a slight jerking? Are your rpms changing with the jerk?

Sounds like you're just getting use to having a little less torque in the lower RPMs now that you have the header..

My car was the same way when I put on my header, you just have to drive it slightly different.

Okay I did the anti-fowler trick and it didn't work for me. I did an OBD2 Scan on it and the code comes up as water pump. I am going to toyota tommorow to get it checked out... so hopefully isn't anything big or something to do with the headers.

Make sure not to say that it started when you installed the headers then. Just say that it started.

okay I went to the dealer and all they told me was that it is my o2 sensor. I had a cross threaded one in the begginning and it just stripped off, so I was using a universal. Could this be why my check engine light is still on and giving my car that jerkiness at 3K-3.5K at crusing speed. The dealer said they would have to get an OEM o2 sensor and charge me 300$.

I've bought 02 sensors at AutoZone. They're not too expensive there. I don't know where it's located exactly on the tC though.
