im about to take my car in for an oil change and was wondering if i should remove mt unichip or not. i assume they run a diagnostic on your car when you drop it off.

 

Normally they wouldn't unless you had a problem you wanted to check out.

 

so leave it on? i dont want them giving me any crap after on how i could void warranty if a problem happens

 

That Unichip is hidden, right? If they don't see it, they don't know it's there. I wouldn't worry about it unless you are bringing it in for a check engine light or something.
If it's a breeze to remove, and you would be more comfortable doing so, go for it.

 

yeah its behind the glove box hooked up to the ECU.

 

Remove it, takes all of 1 minute.

 

I wouldn't really worry about it. They have no reason to go look at your ECU unless you have a check engine light or ask them for a reading that would require them to go back there.

 

But with the unichip, it wont start the first try, you gotta wait till the gauges bounce, then fire it up. The Tech could become suspicious.

thanks anyway, i can change the oil myself. just wanna get rid of the three comp. oil changes at the dealer. gotta get something out of them right? speaking of which, the guy that took my car back to get the oil change didnt even kno how to turn on my car. once i told him it was stick shift he drove away with the e-brake on. doh
