Why would you need a heat shield?

An aluminum box about half an inch from your engine tends to act as a heat sink. If nothing else I'd probably just heat wrap the bottom.

Well alot of hondas have aftermarket intake plenums and they dont have heat shileds or heat wrap. Plus a heat shield wont do much for this anyways and i doubt there is much room.

Had a fight with the tuning gremlins..
They won...

The car responded very well on the street..
Heard some minor pinging at higher rpms..

On the dyno the car pinged like a **** and lost power..
the AF's moved from 13.9 - almost 15.

This manifold definetly needs some kind of tuning with it..
Im not 100% sure what kind of tuning devices are out there but we would like to dyno a car with some kind of tuning device on it..

When the car ping it means needs more fuel, and with that in mind.. The car backs out ignition timing so the engine doesnt detonate.

We feel that this manifold is a great design, but needs to have some kind of tuning device to pair with it..

We have seen the same problems with other cars.. Without fuel tuning the car doesnt like all the additional air.. So it pings and backs out the timing, which takes away power.. Its a safety feature on all cars..

Anyone in the bay area with a TC with Emanage installed?

Honda IMs tend to have shorter runners too so the plenum is off of the engine a little ways. You're right though; it probably won't have much influence, ultimately, but seeing it out of the engine bay like that just looks like it'll be pretty hot right there.

The stock manifold is pretty baffled, I believe. I wonder if the new manifold is supplying the car with way more air than the stock map can handle.

What I'd like to see here:

-Dyno on a stock tC
-Dyno on tC with just the WR headers.
-Dyno on tC with just the WR intake.
-Dyno on tC with both the WR headers and intake.
-Price.
-Pictures in the engine bay, installed.

These are what influence my purchase....

Start with pics?

How about we just start with getting the current setup up and running first I'd love to see the gains on a motor with just bolt-ons..

not to offend anyone in this thread or anything.. but...

This is an intake manifold: not a header. nor is it an CAI or Short ram intake. The thread is about WR developing a new Intake manifold. It says it in the title (which is at the top of the page) Its also the thing you clicked on to see the thread. So I do not understand why you are asking for a dyno of WR Header, WR Intake, and WR header/intake combo and a picture of the engine bay with them installed. If you want to know that stuff, there are threads on here that probably have the information you want in them. Or if theres not, start a new thread asking people.

Ive been watching this thread and the last thing I want to see happen to it is it go off in another I/H direction.

Sorry im not tryin to ____ anyone off or offend anyone or anything, but come on lets keep it on topic.

im done...Back to watching...

Hey wants dynos of the intake manifold with those things as well. He doesnt want dynos on just those things. Learn to read before you make nonsense comments.

Although he is asking for alot which i dotn think they need to do all those dynos.

It is kinda a downfall to need Engine Management to get this to work if it does when all is said and done but honestly you can harness the power of you full setup this way and if your turbo your gonna have management anyways and this is prolly more for the turbo crowd honestly. but i plan on doign an N/A setup with this to try and reach 200whp N/A.

yea... the tuning gremlins beat the thing down.
.. geeez.

thanks weapon r for the great work. i dont think my car is missing too many parts after this.. hahaha..

though i got a nice realization.. hmm... i need to tweak my intake a bit now.
(in between some dyno runs leo fiddled around with my intake (i have an injen, fyi).. even switching filters with a weapon r one he had laying around)

*thinking*...

ughh.. need someone in the bay with engine management.. bleh.. who's up next?
