Default WTF! brackets for the intake???

Before I start, I want you guys to know that I used the search, but did not find the answer to my question...

* Im planning on buying an intake (CAI or SRI, not sure at this time). But for the CAI, I heard there are brackets that have to be put up to help keep it stabilized. Is this true? and if so, how easy is the process? any drilling required?

If I buy the CAI is there anything else I should know about?

Who makes SRI for the tc? cant find any. If the CAI seems to be too much trouble to install, I will have to settle for the SRI.

* Could'nt I simply buy a filter and place it on the stock intake pipe, and basically have a SRI? would this work? would I get the same results as a SRI?

the brackets are already welded onto the intake, so you dont have to worry about that

putting the CAI should take you no more than 30 mins. its not hard at all, and not much of a bigger deal than going with a short ram intake.

Since I presently don't have a wheel well skirt on that side I can change out the stock and my K&N CAI back in fourth now in less than 30 mins. Last time I think I did it all in10 mins.

My injen CAI was simple bolt on wit 0 problems. Later on I found out the Excessive heat from my headers makes the intake get so hot the bracket your supposed to mount the intake with ( the one clsoe to the....BAttery?) It broke and now makes this sqeaky noise when driving normal.

Its horrific.

seems like all of you guys have Injen. I heard it delivers more gains, than the other CAI's ... is this true? Wut's your guy's opinions on SRI's?

I have the secret weapon r sri, very easy to instal and there is no drilling for the brackets. It sounds real good too.

I bought off someone for 130 new then I bought the Cold Air box for 80. You can get them for under 200 from one of the sponsers on the site.
