Purple tC? Um yea not quite. But debbie downer thats a good one. I love how your talking crap about the haters and the crybabies when your defending them. People need to realize that a question was asked and people gave there opinions and need to not get but hurt by them like the OP and his douchebag comment. So do whatever and defend the stupid people.

Purple, indeed. Though faint. Cute color if it's your cup of tea.

Take care now

You don't seem to be getting it.. anything is possible in the realm of fabrication.

What your saying is it isn't possible to make a tc a 6spd, or it isn't worth it. It's possible, and to some, worth it. Why ____ on their parade and call them douchebags and idiots?

Seriously, take your own advice and leave. Then someone can clean this topic up and hopefully the OP can continue on with his idea and make something of it.

I just recently seen a 2.2 Ecotec with a TH400 trans put into a Truggy build with the help of an adapter plate. Laff @ people who browse SL not knowing anything about cars.

Again, goodbye.

I think it's funny how people can get so mad and frustrated on forums.

It's the freakin internet people... grow up or shut up

This thread completely changed its subject

Excuse me, that was MY douchebag comment, not the OP.

To you negatively opinionated people - it's just likely I will be helping the OP with this project and would rather use the forums to generate an actual solution. You know how many things you can post on this forum now without someone saying "USE THE SEARCH" because apparently everything that can be said about this car already has been?

So if everything has been said and everything else is nonsense, wtf are you doing trolling Scionlife?

Have something helpful to say or GTFO is all I'm saying.

First off I never asked for your opinion at all... I simply asked if you knew anything about the XRS tranny.... (so if you don't GTFO)... I think its funny that you JUMP INTO SOMETHING YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT... YOUR NOT HELPING SO STOP. you are probably one of the guys that discourages any change at all...I forgot your the type of person who takes your car to the shop to have stuff done b/c you to stupid to do it yourself or come up with anything creative (my opinion) if you want I can make a post about that too. but for no lets stick once again to the original question... Does anyone know about the XRS tranny... there blocks are a 2az which makes me think It would not be that hard to modify one and put it in a TC

...Get out of my post if you don't have anything good to say pertaining the OP .... THREADJACKER.... no one was ever crying... I just wanted an answer to the OP not your opinion so I jumped on some people who had the potential for Thread jacking and I guess I didn't do it enough...

I agree with streeter.... too many people are quick to jump into a forum and say "USE THE SEARCH" just remember all of us on here needed help at one time or another...

A 6 spd would be beneficial for the tc. Hwy rpms would decrease dramatically instead of freakin being so loud..

The engine code for the XRS is the 2zz-GE..the same as the celica GTS and is also a 1.8L instead of a 2.4L...its not a 2az...unless the blocks are the same and the only difference are the internals they are 2 completely different engines.

I guess your best bet would be to find the measurements and dimensions of each transaxle in order to make yourself an adapter. There is also a good chance that the either 1 or both of the front drive axles aren't going to fit either. So depending on the size of the XRS transmission, you may have to get a custom axle unless you already know it'll work with an XRS or a tC axle.

thats about all I can think of

yea, and it would be about a second slower in the 1/4 mile...6spds are good for high revving engines that need to rev high for power, not the 2az which has enough torque...the Si needs a 6spd, ur retarded

not neccesarily..look at the Evo IX MR and the Subaru STI..those aren't high reving engines and they have 6spds.

Mustang Cobras are 6 speed as well.. I guess it doesn't have enough torque as a tC to require a 5speed..

you will also need custom shafts, cables, maybe a custom clutch/flywheel as well, custom starter, and of course a custom transmission mount!

im sure one day someone might come along and give us the 6spd we all wish for, however, most people wont have the money for such a thing

good luck
