imho just get a basic kit.. (250-300hp?)

u have manual or auto?

clutch upgrade, drop and sway bar

( i dont think that you wil have money left for coilovers.. so get a lowering springs and rear sway)

alright alright lets be a little nicer.....lol

first off im not trying to be an @$$ but you really got to do alot of homework to try and understand how a turbo system works and the components involved, this will lead you to further understanding the costs involved. Then and only then should you look into buying a kit, the reason i stress that is there are alot of so called "kits" that promise the world but deliver nothing but frustration and possibly a blown engine. Look around scion life and use the search button up top for any questions you may have because most likely its already been explained a few times.

As for 6G's, thats a great start, that should get everything you need to get boosting.

Well i think turbo with a budget is better than no turbo at all........
+ the budget is just temporary its all i can afford at the moment i will add to it as time goes on.

No turbo is better than turbo on a budget. Because when you use the entire $6000 and still need money for more stuff, you're f'd. Or if you have barely anything left over and something goes wrong, you're f'd. Better to have a slow car than no car at all.

Rule #1 of boosting, don't boost on a budget. Let's do a quick run down.

Simple kit - $2500
Exhaust - $500
Boost Gauge, Oil Pressure, Wideband - $450
Mount for Gauges - $100
Fuel Management - $1000
Clutch - $1000 (installed)
Tune - $400
Oil + filter - $50
Tapped Oil pan - $100

$6100. And that's with everything reasonably priced. You're over your budget, so let's get cheap oil and tap the pan yourself. $5950, and let the problems begin, because you cheaped out to make your budget.

And this is with installing everything yourself, minus the clutch since it's such a PITA.

If your car is bone stock-sounds like it is-start with the other stuff first before the turbo (going along with what everybody else is saying as well-you need to know more before you do the turbo) so get your feet wet with stuff you need anyway.

1) springs (lower some for looks and performance)
2) axle back exhaust (more power-better sound-better mileage)
3) cold air intake or K&N drop in (more power and mileage)
4) maybe some ceramic front brake pads-slotted rotors-braided ss brake lines (stops like you hit a wall-especially when used with grippier tires)
5) rear sway bar (better handling)
6) wheels and tires (just if you want a more custom look-could get better performance too if they are lighter and grippier)

Check the tech section (it's under the features tab) and start reading up on what can be done by you to start to get a feel for "doing things" to your car-this will lead you into knowing more and also seeing what having a turbo and maintaining it might entail.

Welcome to SCIONLIFE too-lots of help on these pages.

The thing ur missing is that a budget for sumttin is set bcuz thats wat a person is aiming to spend one can go over budget maybe not with a smile on their face but they can spend more than wat they wanted.

Having a budget lets say of 6000 that doesnt mean that there is only $6000 in the world and that there is no possible way to spend 300 or 400 more.

go for a turbo toyotas thing, install it yourse.f keep the stock exhaust be VERY careful with your money. get pro sport's 30 dollar gauges, don't get a new clutch/don't boost it over 5 pounds...make sure you get the emanage and make sure you can tune the thing yourself.

i myself had a budget of about 4k.

i hit it...and went over about 3k lol.
