Default 7.5psi on Stock S/C setup

now, dont get me wrong, i like haveing more psi then what TRD told me i'd have.... i just want to know if anyone else has this too.

I just installed my Autometer Electric Boost/Vac Gauge in my S/C '06 Automatic, and i made a full throttle pass when accelerating onto a highway, and according to the gauge i maxed out at 7.5psi??

This is my first f/i car so i dont know if somthing is wrong or not causing the boost to be over 7lbs (stock pulley)

Let me know

Thanks everyone

I think it's supposed to be 7 at 6,000 rmps, no higher...

nothing to worry or brag about. it is probably just some calibration error.

a couple people with the stock supercharger who use the a TRD boost gauge complain that it says they are only making 6 psi.

since the boost is directly related to the rpms and the ratio of rotations between the crank the supercharger pulley, your going to make 7 psi max because of how fast the pulley will spin at redline, and the bosch 102 bpv will release any boost over 7 psi.

you would make less boost if your belt started slipping, or you had a vacuum leak.

Funny story the other night when it was like 33 degrees out I made 9.8psi on my 9.5 pulley. It did it 2x. epic.

yes I can hit 8psi on the stock pulley on a nice cool night in 3rd gear... the S/C loves all the cold air it can get

Yeah and I have an intake too so that may be partially the reason

do you have the stock bpv? because i thought that once you get to 7 psi, the bosche 102 will release any excess boost over 7 psi.

what you're describing is the function of a wastegate... BPV/BOV do not release boost pressure when they attain a certain ammount of boost. They only open due to vacum.

It sounds like the Bosch 102 tends to leak before even 7 pounds of boost though.

Not when the diaphram folds under pressure and opens, thus releasing pressure.....

My aem gauge peaks at 5 or 6 if I'm lucky. I think it hit 7 once or twice. It seems like it usually never reads over 2 maybe 3lbs at red line. But I tapped the line at a crappy spot and haven't had a chance to change it.

I'm also using the Forge 007 with the red spring
