Default About oil pressure sensor connection...

Do you guys have your oil pressure sensor directly connected to your oil adapter on the bottom?? If so, how long has it been there connected?? any problems??

Or do you use an extended hose, then connect the sensor (to avoid direct heat)??

I asked cuz, it seems to get really hot down there, i think it damages my sensor and caused my gauge to not work properly (the stick is just on 0). I replaced the wires and tried a new gauge and still not working. Then i replaced a new sensor, it worked...but went back again to not working when i was driving in a hot sunny traffic.

anyways, this can be a heads up concerning your oil pressure.

What did you use to T it off the stock oil pressure sender and where did you get it? Any pics of it? I might just have them do this to mine instead. Is it anything like this one on ebay and would this work?

I had one of those block adapters but I didnt like it. I would suggest to anyone with an oil pressure gauge to hook it up this way.

I got mine online but you can get a Brass one at autozone for just a couple of bucks. Its called a 1/8th NPT Female "T".

I would just like to point out that the OE sensor and the hole in the head are both tapered British Standard Pipe thread, not the American NPT.

Is there something else you used? I see another blue thing between the T and the engine.

What are the measurements for those pieces on your fitting? The adapter that turbonetics sent cracked and my car is out of comission until they can send me another. I know its BSP, but where can you find them, and what particular size is the t-fitting and adapter?

Nah, originally they did that, but they changed the kit contents, so now you don't need to retap anything. Just gotta use the adapter. But I got rid of all the little parts bags from my install so I don't have the sizes for that t-fitting and the adapter to get it into the block.
