oh...so without the cats, you did have a CEL, and you just did the antifouler on the secondary 02?

OK...UMS said I should try wiring my secondary 02 into the fi/c where ther primary 02 is so they get sent the same signal, cause the f/ic can get rid of the cel, but not if you delete the cat...apparently...but I may just not bother and get some anti-foulers instead!

Hey Guys, My tuner is having a Real Hard time with the base map, and he is almost hell-bent on giving up on the computer, If anyone could send me their base map, or any base map that's better than the AEM CRAP one Please do so! , I will try tune again tomorrow so please help me out!

Where to start? How about a list?

1) The FIC was incompatible with my crk and cam sensors. I tried different resistors on both and one at a time. I even bought an ocilloscope and installed variable resistors to find resistance values that would work. No matter what I tried I either had high-rpm misfiring with P0335 CELs or hard starting. The solution for me was to bypass the cam intercept completely and only intercept the crk for ign timing retard. If you check the AEM forums you'll see that crk/cam sensor problems like mine are very common.

2) My FIC simply stopped controlling the injectors one day and I had to remove it and reflash the firmware to fix it.

3) When you clamp your MAF to avoid a P0101 CEL from boost, the ECU doesn't see the extra air and compensate with added fuel. The FIC tries but can't distinguish between 5psi at part throttle (open loop) and 5psi at WOT. Tune it for WOT and you'll be pig rich at PT. Tune it for PT and you'll be lean at WOT. Tuning the FIC off the TPS may work better, I haven't tried.

IMHO, the FIC has 2 major problems:

1) The FIC's method of ign timing control by intercepting and sending delayed crk/cam signals introduces a multitude of potential compatibility issues. If it works on your car, you're good. If it doesn't, AEM's solution is to tell you to use an ocilloscope to troubleshoot it yourself and find a parallel resistance value that attenuates your crk/cam signals to a range the FIC can read correctly. You may also have to attenuate the output signals from the FIC to the ECU since the FIC outputs it's own internally generated signals that differ from the oem sensors. E.g., my oem crk sensor outputs a -8 to +8V analog sine wave, the FIC outputs a -5 to +5V digital wave form. My oem cam sensor outputs a -3 to +3V sine wave but the FIC outputs a -5 to +5V sine wave.

2) IMO the FIC would work much better if it read the MAF sensor for fuel load and output a clamped MAF signal back to the ECU. The oem MAF sensor is so much more accurate than any MAP sensor and especially the cheesy little MAP sensor that the FIC comes with.

Also, despite the multitude of problems I had with the FIC and numerous calls to AEM tech support, I could never get past the first level techs. When I asked if AEM was working on a new FIC revision to address some of it's problems I was told that AEM's priority for the next several months was designing a weather-proof enclosure for marine and RV use.

That's why I really need an alternate Base Map for my car, A.S.A.P. , Because the AEM Supplied one is just as stated before "Pure Crap"
