ALL INCLUSIVE GUIDE for "What NOT to do" FI version
I would have done the same thing to be honest. not anything agenst p-tuning but its too loud for my taste but later I prolly would have been kicking myself for it since they now offer a quieter muffler to swap out to. Then again with that molla i could have made my own 3" exhaust with the muffler of my choice and still have extra mod money.
Speaking of "what not to do"... oops, wrong subject.
On the subject of bad ___ 3" exhaust systems, I installed my CX Racing 3" DP-back today and it's sweet. Great fitment, mandrel bent 304, polished muffler with 4.5" tip.
A trip to VA to pick it up and meet a fellow SL'er on our birthday (yup, talk about coincidence, same age too) $100 to Mustb3Ds whose wife correctly thought it was too loud. $10 in SS hardware. $125 to the shop that welded in a UEGO bung and installed it with new gaskets. Some free R-13 insulation wrapped around the silencer. The perfect sound = priceless.

What to do.
$440 from CXR
$300 from Ebay
$100 used from Mustb3Ds (out of stock)
I wouldn't put it up against P-Tuning's 3" for overall quality but it is 3" ID mandrel bent, TIG welded 304, fits well and since it's the only available option larger than 2.25" ID for the XB2, it's a winner.

Dont assume you go boost and dont have a single issue.. that is very rare and is almost like a freak accident.
Know how things work and know how to do some of the job, you should know your setup better than the person you asked or payed to perform the job.. Just dont trust anyone right away, there is some much more to boosting than making power
