Default Belt Slip

Has anyone had a problem with the belt slipping with the NST pully?

I have the K070890 belt and it sqeals when I start up the car. I noticed a lot of black belt dust by the tensioner pully, but everything looks like it is on correctly.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I don't have that pulley, I have the Agency Power crank pulley and I'm good. How many miles are on it? Is your tensioner loose? Go to AutoZone and get a spray called "Belt Squeal" or something like that. Spray it on the pulley while it's running and it should help the belt grip a bit more.

Good luck.

I have a 7PK2260 you can buy off me if you want to give it a shot ($20 will cover it, and i think you're pretty close to me). I was going to use it, but it turned out the 2250 fit with my smaller alternator pulley.

The 2260 is supposed to be perfect for what you're doing.

I had the 2265 until I added the 20% Alternator overdrive pulley. Then it just squeaked and slipped and was generally crap. I dropped to a 2250.

Well.... I noticed that on the package K070890, regardless of the part number, the belt size is 89.75 inches and not 89 inches (It's a gates belt made for NAPA). The metric size for that is about 2279mm. So the belt I have on there is almost 2cm too long. I'm going to get a 2260 Dayco Poly Cog (just like a gatorback) and see how that works.

Wish me luck.

hehe I have a Dayco 2260 right here if you need it. $20 and it's yours. I'll even put it on for ya if you need.

Edit: Scratch that. Bring over a 12 pack of something decent and you can have it
