this is correct, most honda guys will use the program called K pro which is a full standalone system that is adjustable by the user. The basic hondata reflash is just a reflash system where the paramaters cannot be adjusted. For the TSX, they do not have a K pro available unfortunately, and the only option for us is to use the hondata reflash. What it does is extend redline out to 7600 RPM's on the 06 5AT model, it has a vtec window which can open up at 4850RPM's based on load instead of the traditional 6000RPM high cam crossover point where Vtec kicks in yo! lol
It gives you a decent hp and tq gain throughout the whole rpm range...about 24 ft lbs and 25whp on an auto...its about 700 or so for the reflash and the only downfall to it is that you hafta send out your engine immobilizer and key plus your ECU for doug at hondata to do the reflash for you

yeah, from what i've heard, hondata is awesome for honda/acura vehicles... adds a whole 'nother dimension to N/A power-making

Well what I mean is, the Greddy has a VTEC (lift) controller and the AEM has cam timing control (which I suppose doesn't include lift) and better for the Toyota's no lift VVT-i.

Oh, and if you look at your tCs parts... most of them say Made in Japan... (and legally it is 100% Japanese, check the stickers before you bought the tC.)

We know the tC is a Japanese made car. Just because it`s a Japanese made car doesn`t necessarily mean German, USA, etc. parts won`t work with it.

Also if I use 550cc RC injectors will I see an increase in power even with the OE pump?

Yeah, just cause it's made in Japan, does not mean it is better. I'm not made in japan, but I'm better then you, see!

well actually, i don't think you know how vtec really works....basically vtec is like having "multiple camshafts"....as you move into different rpm, the ecu will activate the other lobes that do lift higher, but what it does is basically change the cam's timing.....i have seen many hondas use an aem standalone,......the aem has so many features that tuners usually can't tap into all of them.....stating that one engine management is better than another shows that you don't know the realy features of them which are explained in their sites.....i mean, did you know the aem can tune your traction and has a built in boost controller.....i don't know man, the more you post, the less i feel you know anything. and the less i feel that you are actually researching...am i the only one who thinks this? lol

Hold on, malibu...your talking about the AEM EMS again (standalone) which those are all features of. We are talking about the AEM F/IC (piggyback) which can't do all that.
Let's give pinks a little rope since he SAID he did some reasearch. I just want to know if the reasearch he found said the AEM is better with vvti, or if he interpreted the reaserch to mean it was better.
Let's see what he does with that rope...

I can do mechanical and plug and play stuff, but I really suck at programming and uhh, engine management!

When I was in the Philippines, I used to (just for the hell of it) hang out at a friend's shop near my school when I was 16-17 as a pass time and I sorta had a crash course on working with Hondas (mostly blown VTEC engines), Mitsubishis (Carbs- 99 Lancers never played with MIVEC), and Toyotas (old carbs, 4A- GE/F/FE and 7A-FE) Also some carb bikes with 50-450cc motors. My friend and I used to take out old/blown engines and, we pretty much overhaul it using new, used, fabricated and remanufactured parts and reinstall it and make it run better than new, we even swapped a couple of engines, one is a KIA's version of the Ford Fiesta and we dropped in a 4A-FE in it we just dropped in the engine but didn't do the crazy made tranny job those other peeps did...

I'm pretty much saying that I'm more into actual stuff **** than the academic technical stuff. (I'm trying to learn the technical **** actually)

So, 17 years old and a 99 lancer? That makes you about 24?
I never saw anything like that when I was in the Philipines, but I haven't been there since '91.

I was there till early 02... I'm really almost 27 now.

I actually see left side steering EVOs (mostly 3s and 5s) back in 00 and we installed a real JDM straight exhaust.

What sucks is I was some sort of apprentice and did it for free. (they dont pay me since I have a new car from "Erpatz")
