My mechanic informed me that rods are bent, shavings in oil pan, crankshaft may be damaged, & pistons gota get replaced....

so options?

my mechanic can get me a whole new motor for i think 1700..comes with 1500 miles .....or i take the head to my cousins to get port n polished to 89mm throw wiseco 89mm 9:0:1, k1 rods w/ the extra little things i need. im still not 100% on the valves yet.... im delaying pulling the motor but itll be out ina couple of days. possibly start 2moro. if i build it i wont get the new motor. or new car lol

 

how the hell would the crank be damaged? nevermind. bearings.

im scared to boost now hahaha

 

i have the whole tc service manual if you guys want it.

u have a wrx and a tc? wtf are u doing spending money on the tc lol.. i woulda built the rex in a heartbeat.

 

wrx = tranny probs, u can kill those problems by swapping 1,2,3 with the lagacy gears, or just a full dogbox but ull need 10k and a visit here to maryland to my boy andrewtech

From what i've read, the mechanical configuration of it makes its prone to being excessively noisy.

But just how noisy is a dogbox?

a dogbox is ridiuclously noisy.. and no u dont have to get a dog box just swap gears not that hard. and why wud he have to go to MD for a dogbox swap.. when ppl can do it right here in south florida?

 

no i dont have a wrx....but im looking to lease a DD while i have my car in the garage, i got her home this morning, and the rebuild begins. gona make some changes to my turbo setup & try and fully build this motor. as for leasing a car im looking at the new wrx, speed3mazda, r32 or gti.
