but honestly, i think people blow this problem up more than should be. i have never stalled before and don't have idle problems so idk why some people have so much trouble with an atmo bov. i have the hks though and supposedly its the best performing bov.
Because it's bad on your car, whether you feel it or not. Hook up a wideband and see for yourself. You can't tune your way out of it.

Until you swap your car's computer for a standalone and hook up a MAP sensor, you should be running a recirculating valve. There is absolutely no intelligent reason to do otherwise.

Think of it like baking a cake. You need a cup of flour. You toss everything in the oven, an hour later you have a misshapen lump of failure and indigestion. Oh, you didn't add the flour? Whoops.

That's what you're doing to your engine every time you VTA on a car not equipped to handle it.

I'm blowing atmo... No stalling problems at all. And of course you can tune it out.

yes, i have a wideband and i see what is happening. i don't get how a temporary (and i mean VERY temporary) rich condition will cause problems. can you exlpain further please? its not like its going rich EVERY shift during my commute, only when you hit boost.

Because not all of that extra gas being pumped into your engine is getting burned off.

It'll foul your spark plugs, cause your catalytic (if you still have one :p) to burn out, and will likely cause an accident if you stall out at the wrong time.

If you're going to do something, do it right. If you want the psh sound, buy a standalone and a MAP sensor or a ____in Neon.

I mean come on. You're investing 4-5-6,000 into a turbo setup, putting money aside for a clutch when you need one, and paying for quality tuning and dyno testing so it runs all super.

But now you're going to skip out on having a perfectly running car just so you can PSH at people on the sidewalk?

idk, i guess to me, i don't drive hard enough during normal driving to get a rich condition between shifts.

i only get it when i go into boost so it doesnt bother me. as far as the fouled plugs, its only plugs and are easily replaced. i figure having a rich tune will foul them out anyway.

and i just don't feel that this small rich condition is enough to burn out my cats.

but who knows, i'll probably eventually get it recirculated. just that right now, to me, the car runs perfectly fine.

please don't think i'm trying to argue with you though, i understand. just that the small rich condition doesn't seem to bother me and others too much at the moment.
