18x8 +40 will be ok but will not be flush. they'll fit though

 

by flush u mean? sorry i never exactly understood this term.

 

Flush is like when it's lined up and tucked in nicely.

 

so what would they look like if they arent flush

 

haha lined up and tucked in are two different things completely. flush is when the outside of the wheel is perfectly in line with the fender, tucked is when the outside of the wheel is in the fender completely

 

I call my drop flush anyway.

ya they are made with 40 offset .. thats all ive seen so far atleast

 

Not sure what mine are, but they are pretty flush.

 

all i know is I had 18x8.5 with a 35 offset and they rubbed cause they stuck out a little.

stock offset is 45.

NO, not with a 40 offset. They will be on the inside of the fender, not the outside. I.E. Tucked in. Flush is when the outside of the rim is parallel to the outside of the fender. Negative offset is when the wheel goes past the outside of the fender, like you see on 240sx Drift cars.

negative offset is when the wheel face is on the inside half of the wheel.

that is just sticking out, you achieve that by having a lower offset. you can actually have your wheel stick out by having a positive offset.

I was keeping it simple. Not being all detailed about it. I know what negative offset is. And I know that you can have the same thing with a positive offset.

 

Yeah, negative offset is for deep dish rims.
stock for our cars are 45. If you go to far over, like 30, and have a deep drop, you will rub. I would stick to something between a 35 and 47 offset.
