Default chevy cobalt ss ecotec supercharger would work on a tc?

I have found this quote from another forum and i wanna know your opinion if this possible at all.

"yes i know but i think its an ecotec engine which is made by toyota.saturns use ecotecs and its the same or allmost the same as corolla and mr2 spiders and the ss motor bolts into the saturns,same engine as the redline if i remember right. i could be wrong but i know chevy uses alot of toyota 4 bangers in there cars i just dont keep track of them like that cause im a 7m guy. anyone else out there know? if it does fit i might have a great deal for you if you wante to go super charged."

Ecotec isnt made by toyota, and chevy doesnt use yota engines. They do share the techno though.

2.0L Ecotec = LNF
MR2 = 3G-SE
Corolla = 1ZZ-FE
08 Corolla = 2ZR-FE
tC = 2AZ-FE

None of these vehicles even use remotely close to the same engines. The only thing they all have in common, is that they are are 4-Cyl. Gtfo. Lock.

It uses an Eaton M62 helical roots blower, so the blower is sized properly for the 2AZ. You'd need to make mounts, size a pulley to work right at 8-9.5 psi, get a belt that fits, and fabricate and intake and manifold after the blower to go to the engine. Also, engine management would be needed with at least a piggyback system. Greddy's s/c for the 1NZ-FE uses the Eaton MP45, though it's much easier to mount with the intake manifold in the front of the engine.

It can be done, but the cost of all the custom work would not be worth it unless you're mass-producing a kit, turbo would be much more cost effective, or pick up a used TRD one.

This is the correct and most appropriate response, imo.

Anyone with enough money could make it work, but they'd be a dumbass for doing it.

toyota and chevy have shared engines/platforms, the chevy cavalier was sold in japan as the toyota cavalier, why, i'll never know. the pontiac vibe is really a toyota matrix underneath, and the old chevy/geo prism was really a toyota corolla underneath.

and sadly, the old saturn vue redline used the 3.5 liter v6 from the honda pilot.

sad how a company that invented the automatic transmission when honda was just making air conditioners now buys drivetrain components from them...

lol, there's a lot of rumors going around that I've heard of, this guy I used to work with said something about using a SRT-4 head on my car cause they're both 2.4L, some people just don't understand, hopefully he realizes he's wrong and doesn't spread the mis-information

That is ridiculous I can care less if it works or not, but the LNJ-in the ss/sc- and the LNF-in the ss/tc- have nothing to do with toyota. The last great motor from toyota was the 1zz and they removed it from the xrs to put the 2az, nothing wrong with it, but I like the xrs as sleeper corolla.

Don't forget why Toyota went centrifical rather than roots was because there was not enough room due to how close the intake manifold is to the firewall.
