Default Cold air vs. K&N

I have a question for you guys and gals that I need some help with. I am looking at getting a cold air intake for my '09 Tc. I see that the price is between $250-400 for only a 10hp gain. K&N air filters (that fit in the stock filter housing) give it a 7.5hp gain for under $75. Which is really the better way to go? Any advice or personal experience with the K&N stock replacement filter or the K&N cold air system.?

If it makes a difference....I have the TRD exhaust on the car already.

Thanks for the help.

when looking at performance, no intake or exhaust would satisfy you.. so just get the cheapest.. if you just want engine dress up and sound then go for cold air intake..

by the way this doesnt belong to forced induction, try drivetrain and power next time

why is this in forced induction? wrong section.

but besides that i heard good things about the k&n filter, i use to have the typhoon CAI from k&n when the tc first came out. but IMO if ur gonan get a CAI i think its a completely pointless mod aswell ad header they may say ull gain 7/10 hp with an intake but ur lucky to even get 1/2 hp. same goes for a header.

but if ur Desperately wanting a CAI id go with injen

^ very true

if ur conerned bout how much u spend id rather jus Buy a ebay CAI/SRI and change the filter to a AEM dryflow filter or a injen filter which is also wat i did after i got rid of my typhoon
