Default Crankshaft Pulley Bolt

What does everyone who has installed their own S/C (or change a pulley) use for the crankshaft bolt. I've looked up the parts and called OTC ($95), called a couple dealerships ($100 dollars), and I've seen universal pulley removal kits ($20). Has anyone tried a universal kit, I have a 150lb 1/2" drive torque wrench, I would just need a pulley tool and the 12-point socket.

i would think you would just use your impact to take off the nut and go to the parts house and rent a crank pulley remover tool

Might not need it, put might as well put it on. Some blow torch heating and an impact should get it off without a problem.

Thanks for the suggestions. I am now debating whether I need it or not, it would cut at least 1/2 an hour from the install. I'm wondering if there is a legitimate reason for TRD including this part, or if it was just to make the install require a "professional" install, or expensive Toyota parts.

its only the extra time of taking off the wheel and impacting the bolt. With the wheel off it will be easier to put on the new supercharger belt.

hey does anyone know how important the wire relocation harness is regarding install? Its located around where the supercharger pulley would reside, however i do not have one and toyota has ordered a cease sale on that part, so i was also planning on some "custom work" haha

The CPS extension wire? I haven't done the install yet, but from the looks of it you'll need something to extend that wire.

I have also found some new info on the pulley bolt after reading how to install a light-weight pulley. The instructions said to put the car in gear so it keeps the crank from turning.

I had toyota install the crank pulley bolt along with my reflash. Just did it to be on the safe side. Payed 45 for the bolt install. You don't want that pulley coming off!
