Cory....bro... so what you're saying is you do need to modify the "stock" set gap distance on the tC's....IF you're running a FI setup then? Good to know...I'm on a N/A setup so I wasn't aware of that need with FI.

yes you need to gap down i run a little over 30/1000 i have never had a misfire code the only code i get is the ocassinall 0172 bank one rich

Always check your plugs first.

If you've just installed new plugs, they could still be fairly clean - as Paul mentioned, it depends on how hard you drive.

Always make sure your gap is between 28-32 (it's what I use.. others may offer different numbers). Right now my plugs are at 30 and everything is great.. I run 1 step cooler NGK Iridiums.

so i checked them and they're at about .028 already should i gap them lower?

Now that the plugs are out, how do they look? Want to post some pics?

lol i just put em back in they looked good just a little soot around the top of the treads and the tip had some whiteish greyish deposits

As far as I can tell the plugs look fine.

Does your F/IC have the resistor mods?

You can do the following.. get a multi-meter and check

1.) Cam position sensor - s/b 835-1400 ohm cold or 1060-1645 hot.

2.) Crank position sensor - s/b 985-1600 ohm cold or 1265-1890 hot.

3.) With ignition on, check with meter between pins 1 & 4 of the coil pack for correct voltage.. s/b 9 - 14 V.

i was thinking maybe coil pack told him to switch out the bad one to another place see if it throws code in that cyl

so i havent had the misfire code since i messed with the plugs the other day but now im getting the cel p0138 wtf
