Default cylinder #4 no compression

the other night i was driving my car its built and boosted im on 24lbs running a precision 5857 but anyways i was doing a 4th gear pull and i got the flashing cel and i didnt think nothing of it because its done it before. so i drove another 100 yards or so and realized that it was still sputtering when i tried to apply any gas. then i looked at my afr gauge and it was reading full lean and my oil pressure gauge read 0 so i pulled over and shut it down tryin to think of what could have went wrong. started it back up and a bunch of smoke started coming out of the engine bay then i shut it down and havnt stared it since. at first i was thinking that it may be a head gasket and i checked for symptoms and the coolant was still full in my radiator so i didnt think it could possibly be that. did a compression test today and cylinders 1,2 and 3 are fine but number 4 has nothing. the spark plug had oil on it as well. any help would be much appreciated.

Probably popped blew piston rings Or bent rod also when the check engine light is flashing I think it means the car is reading a misfire.

Also how much power you make.

What fuel are you using?

I would start shopping for a new longblock.

im running 92 oct we dont have 93 where im stationed. i dont think 24 lbs is terribly high to be honest there are plently of other people that are running much more boost then that and i just got this thing up and running in june so its not terribly old.

Yeah you're right, with 90% of the tC's out there running 8lbs, 24lbs isn't that much.

yeah man, im no turbo expert but 24 on stock internals is suicide. you are probably pushing over 350. what kinda boost were you getting when you had the first tune?

EDIT: i just saw your last post. what mods do you have done to the block?

lol at these newbies clearly knowing more than everybody...

24psi on a built motoris a good number n when ur bult the motor should ha no issues holding that amount of boost it could possibly have been an issue with the build on the motor most likely its as has been stated above piston rings but it could be other things as well. keep us updated though n good luck man hopefully its nothing too too bad

as for the know it all...where the hell did u get that 90% of people on boost are running 8psi? maye its 90% of the ____ u decide to read or 90% of the people u hang out with but hate to burt ur bubble but if u actually take te time to read around u will notice that there is quite a bit of people pushing the stock motor on 12 n even 14psi on both pump gas and e85 and there are a bunch of people that are built n go aywhere from 16-15psi is what u usually see but there are those few who have gone past that as well so i think that it would be wise to let back on the smart ___ answer especially when ur mentioning things outta ur ___ n have no clue about what pepple are really runnig in thier set ups.

Your #4 cylinder piston does not agree with your opinion of safe boost levels with ____ty gas.

i bet when he pulls this beast appart it will be rings, ring landings, and the piston itself. you probably have a big chunk of piston sitting in your oil pan mang. the odd thing to me is why did the vehicle lean out all of the unburnt gast coming out of cylinder 4 should make it rich. i just wonder if you can salvage your head out of the incident.

i will have to open up my ign map to see wat my timing is set at. thendawg tuned it for me and he said he kept it conservative due to me having to run that octane and with no meth. i honestly hope that its just rings. and as far as internals i was running k technologies rods, cp pistons, clevite bearings, supertech valves, springs and retainers. im sure my head is fine the car didnt have any knocking sounds or insane valve ticking. when i blew the motor when she was stock that thing soundned pretty insane. when this incident occurred it just sounded like a misfire.

If it was just rings you would show some compression.

In for oil pan pics
