cylinder #4 no compression
will do man. had to end up getting an extra rod because that one rod had melted metal on it from the piston. wasnt sure if it was possible to fix it so i just got a new one. gonna order a new oil pump, bearings and a head gasket tomorrow i think. machine shop said they should have it done in a couple days so hoping to have it back together next weekend. crush are you gonna go to cupcake meet in san antonio on the 15th? thats my deadline to have it all back together.
thendawg asked me that in my thread, I wished I could but it doesnt look like ill make that. Work is picking back up and im going to have to put some serious time in.
btw did you ever get those injectors flow tested?

I better be more aware of these cars when i'm out and not driving the xD.. !! Good luck with your car and thanks for your service !!
^ thanks for the kind words and yes it is my pleasure to serve this country. im trying to make this thing as reliable as possible.and as far as the attitude towards it well i dont really like fwd but i cant see myself parting ways with this car. no matter how mad i get with it when somethin breaks, kinda gotta jus fix it and keep it moving. and as fas as launcing it i dont really do to much drag racing. i just like to have the power to play with on the high way wen that occasional v8 sees a poor little scion and decides he wants to pick on it.

Has a few mods to it but mostly stock and is better balanced.. The vette is lots of drama sometimes.. if its cold out or wet.. no traction.. so easy to get loose.. every cop wants to nail you.. 2 seats.. Some of these new 4 bangers are amazing from the factory.. Buick , BMW 260+ HP from the factory from a I4.. Amazing stuff..
After owning 45+ cars in as many years of driving.. Having less weight, keeping the handling/power balanaced... makes for the most fun to drive cars.. it's also great having a sleeper.. cops leave u alone and you get more satisfaction by beating more with less.. Good luck to you..
i hear you on that testimony lol. i would love to have a vette im sure i would enjoy it tons more for the type of racing i prefer to do. and as far as the e36 goes man i was really thinkin about gettin one of those as well. ive had alot of different vehicles cross my mind lately. but anyways talked to the machine shop this morning and they said probably gonna be about a week and a half to 2 weeks before they can touch it so looks like im gonna have to wait a lil bit and i dont really trust to many of the other shops around here.
UPDATE! after all this time the block is finally headed to machine shop that can actually do the work. took the block to a machine shop last month sometime and they told me they could install the sleeves and after a week of not hearing anything i called to see what the deal was and they told me they would not be able to do it. thendawg contacted darton sleeves and they referred him to a place called daycustomengines.com so i gave them a call and its only gonna be 850 to install sleeves and have them bored to fit the new pistons. block is off to dallas in the morning and should have it back in the car beginning of january when i come back from christmas leave. so excited to have it back up and running
well when i had the motor built last year i think i paid 12-1300 for everything with a few misc parts for the full build but this time around thendawg and I are gonna be putting the motor back together ourself. the machine shop that was originally gonna do the work was gonna charge me 100 per cylinder to bore it but they didnt realize taht i have an open deck block so it was gonna double in cost.
