Default Dezod S1 or PTuning spec-ss

Alright so I made the decision to boost the tc. And YES it is Auto trans. But I really don't mind because it's already paid off so might as well have fun with it ! Now down to the real stuff ! I'm looking into 2 different kits that are available for the auto tranny. The first kit which I have heard alot of good reviews on is the Dezod S1 kit. And the other is the PTuning Spec-SS turbo kit. There is a grand difference in price but is the extra grand worth it seeing as the auto tranny is safely capable of maybe 230-240 WHP? Also is the difficulty of installation Ny different between the 2 kits ? Any suggestions inputs and opinions would be greatly appreciated ! Thank you

really no point in putting a turbo on the automatic transmission tC. the dollar to hp ratio blows. just keep it as a daily driver, get a car that has more potential and worth dropping the money into for more power.

those 2 turbo kits are in different realms the more realistic comparrison would be alpha series and SS.

Well those 2 kits are the 2 best kits rated right now for the auto trans. I've heard alot about the Dezod kit and a little about the PTuning as it Has alot more potential for higher boost and WHP but you can't get what it advertises unless you upgrade from the stock tranny in the first place. So I'm leaning more towards Dezod as of now. And also yes I thought about just getting a performance car as another vehicle but I don't want the hassle of another car and insurance payment :/

you can pick up a used 5 speed for like 300 bucks. and another 300 for a good clutch i would look in to that.

Which is why the Alpha should be cross shopped with the SS and not the S1. You should be considering something like Dezod S1 and Turbonetics or something like that. If you don't plan on going big, then you are best to get the cheapest available option rather than running the more capable kit at lower powers and wasting it's potential. But if you are going to push it then go for the more capable kit.

There is a $1k dollar difference maybe more between a Dezod S1 and a PTuning SS kit.

^ agree.. for auto mild boost, get the least expensive ones.. s1, turbonetics, greddy and still have plenty of potential

Alright cool thanks for all the input and opinions guys ! Looks like I'll be going with the Dezod S1 !! I'm not going to push the PTuning to it's potential so as you said rhythm it would be a waste. And the Dezod kit should do the job

$6K for us? Our kit is only $4000. Where's the other $2K come from? Even if he added exhaust and AEM gauges AND a pod, it's still only another $1650.00, which will bring you to $5650.00.

just get a S1 kit with no ecu or fuel components

3k

plus dwerks 550cc's 350
plus a ecu 200-600 bucks depending were you shop and what ecu you get

plus tune.. maybe another 200-400 bucks depending on the tuner..

your set at this point (assuming you have a 2.5 or bigger exuast)

if you plan on just daily and a few track days this is the kit you'd want to get. now if your gunna swap out the tranny and get a serious track car then yea.. dezod alpha or ptuning SS is what your looking for..

im gettin the ever so famous S1 kit soon cant wait!! (daily driver plus a few track days) i just want 8psi

After all, it's their car and if anything goes wrong, they can diagnose and troubleshoot it themselves without having to pay anyone else.

Besides, our kit is 100% bolt on with no fab work needed. It can be done with very minimal tools. The most elaborate being hand drill with a few drill bits.

In the end I think he was still pretty accurate. Dyno tuning average around $500 in most places, so $6k isn't a stretch for a Stage 1 fully done.

I'm not aware of any kit currently that isn't full bolt-on. That's the way it should be..
