turbos will have a little play in it expecialy a used one, its not a direct indacator that the seals are bad unless the play in it is excessive and its hard to describe what is excessive is over the internet without a pic.....lol

 

Yep, shaft play is normal, very little tho. Too much would be bad.

your turbo dosent seem to stay spinning for very long. If i give mine a spin it keeps going for a little.

 

Was like that when I bought it.

 

x2 on your turbo looks like it has trouble spining

 

that kind of play actually looks like the pressure seals, it looks like it's spinning fine, they shoudln't be freespinning

yeah its just broke in

 

an oiled tubro should spin freely, his almost looks like it will seize soon

 

It actually depends on the CHRA arrangement (bushing or BB)

I just got a used turbo kit , I sent the turbo to the company that made it . They resealed it for 75 buxs and made sure nothing else was wrong with it .I also had a cracked manifold, and a guy in town fixed that for 20 bux

 

yeah to bad the company that makes this turbo is out of business
im waiting to get a partial refund from the sell so ill have the money to send it out to be repaired, hopefully ill receive it soon so i can get this project underway.
