Dyno pg 7...
I know. So, if you were ever to make it out this way, before I make it out that way (cause I want to race at Button Willow or Willow Springs), and we got to playing around, your run would end at 127mph and I would keep accelerating. I can't do 127mph...that's just not enough room when you are pushing a turbo on the tC.
I know, it's like they run and hide after that. I had people trying me when I was N/A...
Didn't have the power to over come the downforce so I didn't bother with the straight line unless I had removed the wing. I can leave it on now
1) For about a year now with 6800rpms and no speed cut
2) Could never make it over 120mph due to a) The downforce the car generates at that speed was to much for the stock HP to try and overcome and b) If it takes me to long to get up to that top speed, I don't never bother trying. Kinda like there is a lot more time for an error to occur while I'm trying to reach that max speed, vs only a few seconds since you have the power to do it.
Car has seen 10 or so 140mph runs since yesterday now. I'm getting comfortable with the setup sorta speak...Getting the timid feeling of doing 140 out of my system before hitting the track. It's out now so...no more 140 blast on "closed courses".
Just FYI....at 140mph I'm @ 5900-6000rpms.

dood i jus had my car tuned at ptuning like the last week in june. i drove from there there to oklahoma and had not one car try to mess with me but wen i was untuned everything under the sun tried me. car is lookin good. id like to get down there and run a track day with you guys wen i get get my brake setup done.
On a stock block, the consensus is that you will not want to go above 7000rpms. I've been running 6800rpms for a while now, so I just kept it that way. On a built long block, the sweet spot is 7800rpms per Chris Rado and other race built tC's like PTuning's and Ken Gushi's drift tC.
You can rev to 7500 or 7800 on a stock block. We have been doing it on several tCs for several years, however I will state this again, that if you are not making power with it up there and/or not racing it, you're effectively doing nothing other than tooting your own horn. Now if the car makes power up there, which I have yet to only see 2-3 that did, then it's worth it.

Thanks Paul. Had to do a lot of housekeeping first to get back to my toys.
Never heard of anyone running a stock motor at 7500 or 7800rpms. Would be interesting to see who is running that high and actually use it, not just to say..."my tC revs to 7800 on the stock motor".
How much power were the 2-3 making on a stock block at 7500 or 7800rpms? How long did they last at the race track, not daily driving.

The other is not and has a GT37 or GT40 on it. Thing is super laggy! Peak boost is literally 5K or so.

Sorry if any confusion. I say stock block as in 100% bone stock motor. If I'm doing 7500-7800rpms, I would think the power would be around 400whp to make use of that rpm. Stock motor at 400whp and a 7500rpm redline, I think for sure will not be considered reliable for a full race day. I mean maybe if my budget was like Chris Rado's or something, then I would fart at the thought of it blowing and just have my team drop me in a spare motor I have sitting in the back of the big rig...
BUT....I'm not Rado and I'm not much of one to say I have something...but can't use it because it would blow up. So, I just take it to where I know I can use it reliably. A drive from my house to the track, lay down some mid 1:00 lap times, and then drive home and all I need is a fill on gas....Is the kind of days I like to have. Got that with N/A power....want to retain that ease with Boost, except I can lay down some low 1:00 lap times now

That's for sure. I would say there was even a risk in a 7000rpm redline on s stock motor. That's just me though. Some may have opinions on it being reliable, but those people typically aren't road racing for 20mins a session.
