Wrong, if you modify the OEM setup i.e. changing pistons and rods it changes the balance. You should delete the counterbalance shafts and rebalance the rotating assembly.

the only thing i really had balanced was my crank.....i had them match the rods and pistons weight wise as well. If i could go back id have them rebalance EVERYTHING

got cha.. if you remove the balance shaft shouldnt you balance the crank pulley and flywheel to? and also the engine becomes a external balance engine after right?

When a rotating assy is dynamically balanced, the rods and pistons are all matched balanced, then a bobweight is used. (piston+rod+rings+rod bearings+wrist pin+locks=bobweight) A bobweight fixture set to the new bobweight is hung from all the rod journals. The crank is then spun and internally balanced with the new bobweights. Then you add the pulley, Flywheel, and pressure plate one at a time bringing them to a zero balance as to not affect the internal balance of the rotating assy.
