Default Evo turbo

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I have a friend of mine that is selling me his turbo that he just took off his 05 Mitsu Evo. He's willing to sell it to me for 500 bucks. My question is, Is it worth buying and is it possible to use the turbo on my car and have a custom set up? Any info would be appreciated. also nothings wrong with the Turbo, it only has 12,000 miles on it.

actually im not so sure thats a 16G. i had a zpi kit and the 16G was a upgraded turbo for eclipses and talons. the 20G was the Evo turbo. which is a little larger. the same turbo taht comes on the zpi stage 1.5. btw a REAL 20G is not as cheap as sum sites sell them for...unless ur tryna buy the chinese knock off. a REAL MHI turbo is expensive.

Also if he is giving u this turbo for 500 u could talk to Todd with TURBO TOYOTAS and get a ZPI replacement manifold which is just about Equal length since it is flanged perfect for a 20G. i bleve he also can get you a downpipe and dump tube. then, just fab up intercooler piping. u'd have urself a HIGH QUALITY version of the zpi stage 1.5 and u can still throw those magical words on "Custom Turbo Kit". not to mention it should still be fully spooled below 3Grand and making power anywhere up to bout 350'ish.

if u got the bucks to build a complete kit i'd say go for it.
