I dont mean to call bs on anyone, as i value everyones opinions here, but what about the stage 0 zpi kits that are still running 20,000 miles later at 6 psi with no management - and yes i personally know of several of them

well the fuel trims by the Ecu on those kits are around +19.... meaning its just below getting out of range for the ecu..... so its ok but I am a skeptic of not having enough fuel..... and Im sure boost spikes are run into with those kits with crazy lean AFRs

Its not that its impossible, yes I have seen several of them as well. Just like the stage 0 that run no intercooler.
We arent factory turbo'd cars therefore when you do go boost, some many things can happen without a tuned map installed.
Your not callin bs its just different opinions i guess....

I appologize i definately just didnt want to step on anyones toes as there is a lot of great knowledge here i guess my whole theory was - if theyre running 6 psi, at below 4 with wideband to monitor afr and boost guage to be able to see and react to any boost spike i would be ok for the time being until fuel management comes - which with the hail damage to my tc hopefully ill be able to extort some $$ out of the insurance company

Plus although i will have some fun in it of course once i get it up in running i dont plan on beating the hell out of it until it has fuel man on it. This thing will def NOT see a track until well after new injectors, fuel man, and plenty of tuning is done.

When you have boost you WILL hit boost.... otherwise your not alive or something , any red blooded guy with boost just cant help get into it a little.... IMO..... that wont be good for you with a set up like that..... just wait and do it the right way

So thought i would do a little follow up - everything installed and runnign great - fic will be installed in about another week and ill begin tuning it, i have an internal wastegate setup so its adjustable, but NOT easy at all to adjust lol, right now it holds about 4 psi and runs fine on the stock ecu, ill bump it to around 6-7psi when i get my fic and im also gunna set up my meth inject hopefully in the next week or two. So a question, for those who have ran a stage 0, how important is the temp of the air going INTO the turbo, for say right now i have the filter just attached to the turbo butam thinking of building an intake pipe to move it into the lower bumper area to get a much colder air flow to it but i know the turbo will superheat the air anyways, will this make much of a diff in your opinion, the turbo should heat the air by a constant amount of energy not temp, so in theory, if your intake temp is 40c and the turbo heats it by x amount of energy it would become say 65c going into the TB, but if intake temp is 30c and it heats it by x amount of energy it wouldnt actually reduce the intake temp by a full 10c due to the temp diff being greater causing the tempt o change more so more realistically if intake temp is 30c than tb temp would be probably around 60c, correct?

A guy recently did a comparison on his SRT4 here, and the difference between intake vs just a filter on the turbo was negligible. Actually, the filter on turbo did better because there was less restriction in the intake. All up to you!
