Default Front axle breaking??

Hey guys, ok, from what i've been reading (don't ask me were, can't remember. I though i'd ask you guys since I'm thinking about getting a turbo charger instead of a supercharger) I heard that a turbo is breaking something in the front axle (I think its the wheel bearings) because of the amount of torque it's creating. thats why TRD made a s/c with less torque increase because of this problem. this is kinda scareing me because I don't want anything to happen to my baby. I busted my butt to get this car and if something seriously breaks for the quest of unlimited power, talk about a hott mo'fo

It was me and scion speed that broke the axles. It was due to wheel hop, sticky tires, a strong clutch, and a very aggressive launch. They sprayed a tire adhesive on the track so when I dumped the clutch it hooked up more than expected and I snapped the axle. I would have done the same thing with a stock motor.

MANY people on here drive with turbos making a lot of power and it hasn't been an issue at all. I wouldn't worry about it one bit.

What if using Slicks on an at least 170whp tC, would that and a hard launch make the axle snap? Not that I'm gonna do it, just curious.

Here is the BOTTOM LINE.....Don't Dump The Clutch! You dump the clutch like your driving a tq-less Honda, and your going to snap the axle. Even if you were pushing in excess of 400whp, if you Feather it out on launch, your good as gold and won't break an axle.

The Stock axels are pretty solid. At least not toothpicks like Hondas. So like rhythmsmoke said don't dump it hard outta the hole and your all good.

Right on guys!! thanks for the advice. but you understand why i'm worried. Front axles are expensive to replace. I'll be hard pressed for money after the turbocharger.

Front axles are less than 400. I replaced mine. You should be paying between 300 and 375.

Just drive it right, and you will never have to worry about that. Trust me, by the time you reach a point to where you will have to much HP for the axles to handle, you will be pushing upwards of 550whp give or take a few.
