Default greesed s/c bearings

sunday i was board so i decided to take part of the s/c apart and greese the bearings. I went and got some high temp. bearing greese and started the project. All i did was take off the shaft part and the guide wheels and packed them full of greese. there is a seal on the bearings that can easly be taking off with a razer blad by prying on the edge to lift it up off the bearing. when first looking at all the bearing there pretty dry. then i put the seal bach in place. when i was done started it back up it was so quite i thougt i forgot to but the belt drive back on. what a differance greasing the bearing made. I hope this will extend the life of my s/c

That's pretty nice. How long have you had the S/C and how many miles on it prior to this greasing? Lack of grease in the bearing will KILL the bearing's life so you probably just helped fix an annoying noise issue on the S/Cs

yeah, that's the sound I thought you got rid of....hmmmmm....

Well, if it deminished it at all, that should tell TRD that a greasing issue is apparent. hhmmm

the sound you hear is the shaft play when the shaft goes into the s/c housing. its where the two tri-pod ends meet.

Yeah, but hey...why not write up a quick DIY about what you did? Maybe that'll help some other's out and help prolong the life of the S/C bearing and the S/C itself.
