I started this morn cleaning out the engine bay and degreasing everything...waiting on food and ill get back to work. fun fun

 

Im wanting to power wash my engine bay while I have the motor out this time in my garage (I own a power washer) - but somehow I see this turning into a flooded disaster lol

 

it gets messy for sure...I just use crc brand engine cleaner, spray on and let soak for 15min. heavy grease use a tire scrub brush (long bristle), then finish it off with a light spray of water. having a power washer would have been nice though..lol... I messed up though and forgot to clean up the tranny, so now everything is nice and shiney except the tranny...fail

pistons are kinda loud while warming up as youll hear in the vid but not too bad...I think ill go to a different piston on my next engine build but for the price i got these for i cant _____ (THANKS SCIONCREW!!!!!)...prolly going to take my spare engine and build it next to have around or to sell...not sure though. I thought about just building that one as a stocker.

 

Congrats! That does not sound like piston slap to me though. Sounds more in the head. Like valve clearance.

 

valve clearances were double checked and were put back exactly how they came out.

CP pistons, it does the same on mine until it's warm. Not sure if his bore is any more worn than mine but mine were stock piston size stock bore size

 

id have to look at my spec sheet i wrote up...though im a little leary about giving out all my engine specs....I like to leave something to the imagination .

He has 11:1 @ 35over running a longer stroke... Oversized valves. Gonna be pushing 40psi hoping for 900+

well i got the first 2 miles on the car...lol..I dont have tags on the car so im just going around the block in my neighborhood. I need a tire on the back and a new batt too. My stock batt is weak as crap and doesnt hold a charge very well. still have a buttload to do and sooo many ideas.

 

Find someone to buy that diamond ring I have so I can buy an APR unit.. Or a 6262
