Hodge Podge: Houston style

i guess the work on the bottom end is tougher, i too im planning on the ptuning bottom.. the only concern i will have on doing the head first is that more tuning will be needed to take full advantage of the setup.. theres lesser tuner that do cams timing, and few engine management can tune vvti... I would like to see though how good the aem fic will do in tuning the intake manifold and bigger throttle body.

car is expensive hobby lol.. but for top build i would do intake mani, throttle body, pnp, valve springs.. raise your rev limit and increase your VE.. :D
i would hold of on the bc cams, 1 coz its expensive, 2 so you dont have to worry about tuning, 3 coz the car idles rougher.. thats just my opinion though

also does anyone have any info on setting up your suspension for drag racing........i wonder if i should stiffin up the front end or soften it for better traction........i have heard on a rear wheel drive car you want a soft front and a stiff rear (no homo) but this is front wheel drive so it changes the dynamics a bit.......anyone

I would think you have it backwards. On a Rwd car you would want a softer rear to allow weight transfer over the tires more, which = more bite = more grip. Since we are fed we need that weight transfer to stay up front so that would mean a stiff rear to stop the transfer which would mean more grip on the front tires.

what about dampening rebound......ie do you want long travel or a shorter travel on the front.....i only ask cause i found some info for rear-wheel drive cars try to find a happy medium...i would venture to say that travel really doesn't come into play until you hit high hp say 600hp+........while id like to see some #s like that im not holding my breath at all...lol
so far i got soft up front stiff in rear (no homo) and if possible lift rearend up to shift waight towards the front. 20-18psi if using drag radials less if useing slicks up front. max pressure for the rear tires.......any other tips

^^I think you are on the right track. The only TRUE way of finding the sweet spot though is to just get out there and try your settings out at the strip. Make changes in small increments to see if the times get better/worse.
PS....DR's cost as much as Slicks. Slicks FTW.
